WOOT! I reckon BSB is set to become one of the most exciting road race series in the world with news of a Motec control ECU being introduced from next year. After the success of the new BSB Evo class it looks they've drawn a line in the sand somewhere between them and the full spec WSBK bikes previously allowed. So no more:

Traction control
Wheelie control
Launch control
Anti wheelie
Auto throttle blipping on downshifts

Full details can be found at the following:

Thank you Jesus!

sounds like a good move to me, Ive no problem with punters that want extras on a bike for the road, but Ive felt for a while that the success of riders/bikes has been coming more and more down to electronic aids, rather than the actual ability of riders.

If kenny roberts and rossi and all them other mad cunts could ride them 500cc fucking monsters without any electrickery, then surely these guys can do the same?

Good move I say

I think it is brilliant, there will be a lot of crashes at the begining of the season, so all racers should keep there bags packed and pasport up to date in case a seat becomes availlable

IT IS A BLOOD SPORT haha

Those rules look really good, it will keep parity between the bikes and will make racing closer its good to see, I wonder how much the motec control ecu is lol

I don't actually like the limitations....I'd love to see development opened up even more...but I'm the new generation.

Nothing to do with a generational thing, we've all been chasing improvemnts since Moses cable tied a lawnmower engine onto his Raleigh 20. Very little machine/tech development work would have been carried out at BSB level, basically just running trickle down WSBK technology. But there will be a lot of rider development going on under these rules. The spectacle will be much improved and your new generation will get to see the sort of rider skills that us greybeards grew up watching and have sorely missed for the last decade or so.

When was the last time you saw a WSB bike with it's front wheel more than 6 inches (sorry, 150mm to you) off the deck mid-race? Or the back wheel more than a couple of inches (50mm) sideways on the gas?

Gawd, I'm getting all toey just thinking about it....no need for viagra tonight! "Hey babe, come 'ere, I've got something you need to see....!)

The BSB has been a HUGE development race scene for the Japs in paticullar.

ALL FACTORY heads are modified in the UK for Yamaha
All Honda cam shafts for Honda UK are made in the UK NOT HRC CAMS

And the story goes on dude, K-Tech suspension, harris motorcycle frames

The BSB was the last of the old school racing scene in the world

There are some very cleaver men in the race scene over in the UK

To true, techno crap suppresses aggressive riders and limits their real skills.
Bring back real racing, something not seen in Superbikes since these boys ruled the roost.

I insist that you guys have all got it wrong, its all about the engineering! To an engineer the most exciting races to watch are where you have done such a good job the bike is way out front.

Good point Shaun, now that I actually stop and think about it I couldn't have been more wrong

Even Kenny Roberts saw the UK as the best tech base to set up his team so there's obviously a huge tech/knowledge base there......that I completely forgot about, lol.

You see all the WSB spec bikes over there and assume the tech has come from WSB....when as you say, some of it is actually going the other way.

Yep, improving the high speed rebound valving on your GSXR750 forks would be really useful!
