I decided to smash my bike to bits just to please you lot with another crap streetfighter build....

Story of the bike: Purchased for fuck all as a ZZR400K, motor was crap as one would expect having a massively ghey 58hp...picked up a complete (minus fairings and straight forks) ZZR600D/ZX6D and did an engine swap. Simple, went pretty well to say the least and had some sexual stainless twin cans on it. Was pretty darn near mint as I threw countless hours at a bike I always wanted.....as ya do.

So I was practicing wheelies, did a wheelie big one and fucked the bike and hurt myself a wee bit ('tis only a flesh wound)

And here we are, the bike looks like Hiroshima.... forks = munted. Triple clamps = munted. fairings? Fuck, they're dumb anyway. Rear rim is cracked (Shh don't laugh)

Plans: Simple front end for now, single headlight and maybe a belly pan.
Fix the mufflers, may go shorty on their arses.
Swap my spare rims onto it.
Have found an RS250 esque single seat unit. Might be good for a laugh. Don't want to throw my spare rear fairings on, they're bigger than Russia and about as sexy as finding crabs in a hamburger.

Ideas, comments? 244290244291244292244293244294244295 :facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm:

All that from a wheelie!

How the F did you crack the rear wheel?

I'd be inclined to see if the frame was straight before throwing $ at it if it has had enough force to crack your rim.

It was potentially a good wheelie. Bike went end over end and corkscrewed a few times.
I have a spare bike (Stupid 400) minus forks and fairings  So, I don't care about the frame. I have taken off what I can, my energy and strength is very limited currently, but, I cannot see any cracks. Will look closer tomorrow and measure it up etc.

I have no idea how the rim cracked, I'm going to hang it on the wall

The lovely people at the hospital had told me to be good and swear not to do anything. Seriously, anything. Something to do with a crack and a pelvis (Sounds like a drug addicted Elvis?) Nice of them to tell me in a phone call:facepalm:. So logically, being of feeble build, reasonable fitness and of poor facial hair growing abilities, I waded straight in. My thumb managed to dislocate again whilst removing the rear wheel, I looked at it and said to myself "You're not meant to look like that", lit my cigarette and pushed it into place. I kind of bit the cigarette in half. Ah, too bad, I was set for the night with my supplies.
244324
So I carried on one handed. The rear wheel is seriously fucked. The torque damper/drive damper/cush drive is fine. Bearings are almost brand new, let's hope they're okay. The axle bolt is about as straight as Elton John.

So with the wheel off, I got to removing the brake and silly massive undertail plastics. When I got that far, I decided my thumb was going to be fine and rolled another ciggy.
I ripped all the plastics....um...belly pan and front fender off and a few screws that used to hold plastic....and then took the dash off.

My helmet and the dash had a brief meeting when I gracefully departed my trusty steed, so that's broken. I have a spare dash unit, but, I have a very, very cool plan that you'll all love and something I have never seen on a vehicle before. LED side lit dials. Get the speedo, temp, volt etc backing made from clear acrylic and etch the numbers and what not in. Put a slither of tinfoil around the edge, and point an LED into the side of the acrylic. A was having a tug over some mirrors with the HUD projection thingy in them and Bogan said "neat, but, mirrors are gay, you could do this instead"
A beer for that guy!
The idea is in this link http://www.instructables.com/id/Edge-Lit-Displays/

Anyway, I pulled all that out and threw it in the heap. I was getting very, very worn out. So, coffee and cigarette and look at the machine and think "fuck, this is an awesome project!".
I then finished the evening by removing the front brakes, found that the front rim is screwed too...wow and removed the top clamp, which is also rather....destroyed.

It's ridiculous isn't it? Space shuttle? I'm in to that.

I have found a new front end, ZXR USD forks and clamps for $300. Of course, all my savings went in to making this girl pretty and buying Qmoto gear. So I can't afford it....time to stick anything I can on TardMe.

I plan to try get the swing arm off today and see if it's bent, at this stage, nothing is going to surprise me.

Better check the wheel bearings too, they were all near new  as was the chain and sprockets.

Then, I'll check both of my fuel tanks and see which one will be easier to repair.
Then, if my thumb and bum allow, subframe off.

 I need beer, but, I'd rather spend every penny on parts

Can't you just whip the engine out and put it into the spare frame? With damage to the triple clamps and rear wheel like that, I would want to be super sure the frame is still good before continuing to use it...

Yeah that might be a plan. I've got to measure the frame up and see if it's twisted. There is only one time scrape on the frame, so they tupperware took the sliding I think.

Want to cruise over and have a giggle at it? :scooter:

Minor twisting or fatigue might be hard to measure, but affect how it rides.

Yeh, got a meeting this arvo but probably come round about 3pm. Looks like a wheelitively good day for a ride.

So I ripped the radiator off, it's broken more than Heath Ledger's arse was in that mountain back thing movie. It's as bent as he was too  I have a spare though.

Then I thought I'd take the chain off, because I can.

Now the question, paint or polish the swing arm?
Paint the spare rims? They're currently grey.
Definitely painting the ZXR clamps black and mounting the ignition barrel in the hole in the fram where the RHS "ram air tube goes" it's about as real as my knob is big, so I can sacrifice it (The fake ram tube)
Coolant overflow bottle, Energy drink bottle? Plain? Army flask?
Headlight? The original is fine, but, not cool on a nekkid bitch. Might go with a single one right now, simple and clean.
LED inicators and bar end mirror? I think yes!

If your gonna do a street fighter you want it to look clean, but over flow bottle what about one of those rockstar energy can drinks with the screw top lid..
Get an epic single head light and a lane splitter bar end mirror,
Polish the swinger and clear coat it to keep the shine from getting that tinge, and polish the outside of the rim and paint the inside, if that makes sense
http://motorbike-search-engine.co.uk/Custom/2005-R1.jpg like the rims here.

Good idea with the Rockstar can! I'll buy one of them methinks.
I think I will polish the swing arm and the lip on the rim. I was also thinking of white rims too, but, in my experience they're terrible to get clean.

Got the old swing arm off and tested the spare in there, fits great....obviously they're exactly the same
Put the ignition barrel in the frame through the fake ram tube hole, it'll be getting mounted in there (Haha I said mount..)
Threw the straight rearsets on, will polish them up another day, my hand isn't working too great.

I think I'll hammerite the swing arm, polishing it will be nice, but uber hard to keep clean and I fucking hate cleaning, it's bitch work.

Ideas, comments? 244290244291244292244293244294244295 :facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm:

When I had my low slide last month, I put a tiny 5mm hole in the pants and scratched the rubber off the pocket clips :( New pants too :(

But nothing else touched the ground, only my right side near the hip. I rode the thing to the end haha. Helmet never touched the ground, neither did the jacket.

Lucky then! I'm a firm believer of ATGATT. I wouldn't be walking without it. I'm contemplating riding even more nana like and no wheelie practice. Not on the ZZR again anyway. The tail unit is sitting nicely now, will figure out how to mount it. Thankfully I am very experienced in mounting things. :shifty:

I just sold a set that would have fit your new forks for like $40... It has the bar clamps on it already and the spare/straight ZZR ones bolt straight in :D

Forks go straight on, use the top nut from the ZZR and ZZR bearings. Shaft size is the same and the top bearing is the same, the bottom is a wee bit bigger, so I'll buy a set of ZZR bearings and she'll be sorted.

Axle from the spare ZZR slides straight in, am missing the tool to take the front wheel off the super-custom forks to get at the speedo drive though  Doesn't look like it'll need spacers though.

Will have to modify/butcher the steering stop and the lock-thingy on the headstock.

I was going to make my seat today, but, I have lost my vinyl! I have gone through the garage and multiple cigarettes, yet cannot find the damn stuff. What a piss off.

Ordered an LED tail light today, E marked of course and I ordered a set of LED indicators, also E marked. That came to a grand total of $55nzd (+$35nzd for a second order of LED indicators for Bogan, because they're soo bitchin')
Not bad at all.

Didn't get any work done on the bike, a mate got the day off uni so he popped over for a cuppa, we talked shit, looked at my shiny fram, shiny forks, shiny swing arm and all that rubbish. Then we went and helped his mother out with organising her stuff in her new house. Was a change from getting covered in grease and re-munting my hand, which seems to be getting worse  his mother's dog jumped on my hand, that was interesting. I might look in to making one! It's a good idea, I could throw the whole thing on there instead of making a rolling chassis that I have to take apart again to clean/grease/break.
Does it have wind up wheels? Because that would be very, very fun.

Got her dummied up yesterday with it sitting at around about the right height to have a feel of the riding position, which is...um......extreme  Should be....interesting on my fucked back....

Gives an idea of what it's going to look like too, especially when I rolled the rear wheel in the back there. The rear will be about 3/4-1 inch lower and the front about 1/2-3/4 higher if I want it to be. I may set up the subframe so I can adjust the seat height.

Carbs/airbox in.

Going to figure out where to throw the rear brake reservoir, might shorten the line so the reservoir sits on top of the master cyl.
Need shorter cables and ZXR brake lines.

WTF is a noodle nerd? Or is that some sort of colloquialism related to bum sex?

Drove the might smoking Celica to town (borrowed from the one of the flatmates, he's got a real car to drive instead) and handed out a ton of C.V's. Got foor, played very loud Pink Floyd and now I'm home.

I've stripped the headlight loom back which happens to be about a foot and a half longer than it needs to be :weird: and will start shortening/tidying it today I think. Lunch, cuppa and ciggy time methinks.

I think I'm getting a little OCD on this fucker. I was just planning to have a ratty streetfighter, now I'm worried bout brake line lengths and the loom weighing it down....as it sits it's a shit load lighter than the CB400 :Punk:

85kg front
85kg rear, plus or minus 1kg, my eyes had a hard time reading scales.
That's minus oil/coolant/battery and lights.

My bad was 85kg rear, typo in that post.
Yeah, just add, so it's around 170kg dry instead of 195kg dry with fairings and shit

Here's where the subframe mounts to the mount that's mounted to the tank. (I like mounting things.) 245949245950

Lots less loooooooooom!!!!!!!!! 245952

Much nicer.
Next is, shorten the harness for the switch blocks, they're too long now because the bars are 4-5inches lower.

Started on the battery box today, will run a steel brace under it once I find a welder :D It fits in the hump (hehehe) with plenty enough room to spare. 245989245990245991

Painted the radiator, horns (hah!) and sprocket cover matte black too.

Will make up an under tail tray at some stage and all the electrics will be mounted (this gets sexier and sexier sounding) all up in that shit....

Reg/rec will be on the side of the battery box like so 245992

Not bad for a few hours work. I got distracted by the internet too much today

oh dude least you got yours going i probley just have fit and drop dead frustraion over mine
dude the jap motors must have to much power for ya hehe
sorry having bad day

Ideas, comments? 244290244291244292244293244294244295 :facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm:

Was pretty cunty ae,
The police think they failed to break the steering lock and get it started after taking it from my property and loading it into a Van, so they decided to push it down a small cliff into the harbor

Only update I have at the moment is new LED indicators arrived, they're stupidly bright.
I've been job hunting/fixing other people piles of shit instead of my own toy, bit of drinking in between too.

I'm currently attempting to work out what I want to do with the exhaust, I have a new idea but it'll be rather loud.
