Hi,
So I have got my Learners, now thinking of getting a bike from Trademe. Can you guys recommend anyone who I can take for a bike inspection before buying a bike? Someone who is experienced with bikes will be good.
VTNZ doesnt do bike inspection.
Also, could you tell me what are the important things you check before buying a bike?

Any help is much appreciated! :D

Call up Cycletreads - 0800 TREADS . They are based in Takapuna.

If you cant take the bike to the shop and need a mobile Motorcycle mechanic, then hit up George from Motorcycle doctors (he is THE MAN) - 0800 MOTOMD .

Things to check when buying a bike - Make sure it has good tyres and good brakes, has no money owing, and preferably has service history which will serve you as both piece of mind and also will help you with re-sale value in the future.

Good Luck :)

While not a full blown inspection by any means, there is a lot to be said for taking a prospective purchase through a WOF check at the place your likely to take it yourself once you've bought the bike.

yes, VTNZ are very good like that. Strict, but it does give you a very good idea in what condition the bike is in.
