Left at half seven this morning to pick up a wee RG150 from Taupo for a friend, pretty impressed with the thing to be honest. Hits 150 bent over the tank, comfortable riding position and the Shitkos it came with, while useless and slippery in the dry afforded traction to spare on snow and ice. Traffic was literally stopped from Otaki all round the coast and then some and there were drifts half a foot deep in places. Cager's jealousy really shone through when they saw me scooting past them through the snow at 30 k's, people were trying to block me off and swearing at me from open windows. Took from half past twelve til half past seven. And I did it all without heated grips or goretex, although there were these awesome waterproof membranes I got from Caltex to put in my shoes, worked like a charm. :Punk:

Righteous honour and many kudos to you! That is the sort of biking derring-do I love! Don't be worrying about the haters in the cages, they see you rolling, rolling!

Impressed with the hard yards you did! :niceone:

Ya that's what I meant. I've seen it with my own eyes at higher elevations. What's even funnier is that this time last year I took some great beach photos in Otaki. :D

Regrettably a camera is not a component of my usual riding equipment

hahaha fair enough but it sounds like it would have been worth capturing a few shots! Just to document the occasion...
