Hi
I was keen to get my leathers tidied up with some new zips, velcro and a couple of patches sewn on etc.
But I usually go through Long Horn Leather in central CHC....but their shop was destroyed!:crybaby:
Does anyone a shop they could recommend in either Chch or rangiora that could do this work?
Very much appreciate any feedback

The main business operates under:
PLAINS LEATHER COMPANY LTD
same address & number etc, but I believe the woman who does all the motorcycle gear basically works from home and is only on site 3days a week. Excellent quality of work though
It can be a bugger of a place to find as it's set in off the road slightly and the signage isn't the best

Cheryl has been there every time I have dropped stuff into be done , Not that I crash a lot
Always done within 2-3 days and fairly reasonable price wise
Going down Gasson toward Brougham you turn right into Coleridge street and it's the first driveway on the right

Things may have changed a bit since I went in a few years ago, at the time was told to arrange a time for a measure up as she was only coming in 3 days a week
 you just grind the leather away on those low flying sleds you play rag-doll on

You could be right though as thinking about it I normally always drop off Mondays after racing and she rings when its ready to pick up

Only twice in ten years, done a lot more damage on Buckets

 we still talking about leather?? or are we venturing into alcohol fuelled misadventure :puke:
Still wouldn't mind giving this bucket lark a tickle-up but I'm sure at being 6'4" I'd look like a Gorilla on a tonka toy getting around the track
BTW... was that the rear cylinder you handgrenaded on the MHR?? if it was I'm pretty sure I know why :blip:

 never happened with my one :bleh:
simple really some muppet set your desmos up wrong (too tight on the lift), but it could be a couple of things that contributed to it, running too lean, over revved it (down change one too many gears heading into the corner where it happened), metal fatigue etc

The only bit you even got close on was "Muppet"
Someone at some stage, possibly even the half pissed Italian back from to many Vinos at lunchtime didn't torque up the nut that holds the top bevel gears together when it was originally assembled
It came loose and let the gears move enough that the woodruff key came out which played havoc with the valve timing
It has had the head off at some stage for an exhaust port thread repair so it might have even been apart then
It was going to get the valve clearances done when I got back but even then I don't know if that would have been spotted, nothing about 3K can't fix:crybaby:

Seeing it's 25yrs since it left the factory I doubt Pablo the vino swilling wop had issues with his torque wrench
Surely you could find another head from somewhere cheaper?? V2 or ebay etc ??
