View Full Version : First Harley!
FEINT

I just got myself a Harley. My very first Harley!
However, registration has lapsed. Will need to get it re-complied. It has been over 2 years since the first rego was issued.
Any advice as to the procedure of changing ownership with an unregistered bike? Will be sending the bike to KTL for compliance.
Thanks in advance!

It's NOT in the system now. As long as you can prove (receits etc) that you own it, and it is of no interest to police (they give you that) register it in YOUR name ...

The previous owners ownership documents and a receipt should suffice?
I am excited, my very first harley! Will post photos once I pick it up!
Thanks!:Punk:

Nice what model is it?
You will need to prove it is yours, so the previous owners receipts and ownership papers will do, BUT make sure you get a signed receipt stating you are now the new owner from the previous owner, and I would get the Vin number first and go to your local :Police: shop and and see if its a wanted bike.

Real 1200.
It is a Nightster. Black. Totally new to Harley Davidson. I thought it was a sportster, but its a nightster.
Trying to get it complied this week and insured for the weekend!
Any ideas where I can get insurance that is well priced and good? :Police::Police:

Did you buy the damaged one on Trade Me that needed re complying....the one his GF dropped? My Nightie (now sold....good luck with the suspension) cost me $500 a year to insure with a $250 excess with Protecta

Congrats on joining the antiquated tractor owners club. They certainly grab your soul. Love the look of the nightster. Good luck with the compliance.

Did you get the 'Thick Skin' (tm) package too?
You might need it at times when the riders of 'other-brand' bikes are within ear-shot.

Nice. Any Harley will do. I started with a 87 fatboy that was a total money pit. As long as you love your bike, who gives a crap about what others think.
Anytime you head down to H-town give me a buzz and well head out to Rags
