I'm looking at one of these bikes at the moment to learn on .I've ridden plenty of off road bikes and some small road bikes off road !!! :laugh: Has any body owend one of these ? and if so what are they like

Good little bikes. They have a dummy tank in them, so you can store your helmet in there while walking around town, if that is your thing.... (yeah, walking around in full bike kit minus helmet does look a little silly....

Anyhow, they go quite well for what they are, but are really getting on in years.
Look out for perished rubber bits and fuel stains, and oil leaks.

A well looked after one, will do many k's, but then again, a not so well maintained one could be low k's but stuffed... Like any bike really.
Take it for a ride and see what you think.

The one I'm looking at is 1990 but has only got 660ks on tne clock . Its from a dealer and they reckon Ks are correct which is amazing for a 20 year old bike!

Ask if they will put a 3 month warranty on it. That way if it leaks its there issue to sort.

sounds like a good plan ! I think the add says it has a 3mth warranty

The 3 month warranty is their obligation under law, they have to give you that.

660km in 20 years.... sure... so basically the foot pegs and hand grips should be absolutely mine. Check em.

Great minds? Sorry but if you believe stealership's gospel that a 1990 Across has legit 660km...

I Know does sound a bit off the mark ! But you never no, I will be going over it with a fine tooth comp.
