If it does, we only have ourselves to blame.
"They didn't see me" is a phrase recited with monotonous regularity by motorcyclists.
Perhaps if we'd placed more importance on our ability to see them we wouldn't be hit with compulsory lights on, complusory hi-viz etc.

 good double entendre!
Trouble with the katman logic, is that it only takes a few percent of riders to get hit, for us all to be pinged with new safety (sic) legislation. Those who are constantly looking to improve their road craft are at very little risk, but still have to comply (headlight law anyone). Those at very little risk can hardly be relied upon to educate the rest, so causing a bit of a ruckus is a good plan. Looks like the EU have been muttering about a fair few nanny state-ish regulations too. Hope they manage to sort em out!

I believe that there is no evidence that shows that a life has ever been saved by anybody wearing high viz gear, whether on a motorcycle, treadly or a construction site for that matter either. It's either nanny state stuff or just another way of making workers wear compliant gear.

I like the way they just say this is what we are doing, join us if you want -
On the 25th September you can make your voice heard. Starting from service areas across the country, we all ride at 1pm, 45mph, using the inside lanes and disperse 20 minutes later. Negotiations are ongoing and as citizens we must be considered. This is the first time. Let's show what we could be capable of.Obviously the French influence has drifted across the Channel. I'd go on that ride, which would be a first.

Woo hooo day-glo! Go with my flares, disco ball earrings flapping frantically under the neck guard of my lid, and flashing neon ponytail ties.
I wonder how many people would realise I was a girlie or think I was a bloke looking like a terrible excuse for a drag queen?

Hmmm. Auckland. Probably the latter.
Or is that latte?

If it becomes compulsory I still won't wear Hi-Viz.
I'm not worried about the fines because without it the cops won't see me anyway.

I hope the froggies are cleaning up the environment after all of their nuclear testing.
France also wants to ban bikes over 7 years old from urban areas for environmental reasons!

“Gee sorry I didn’t see you”
Yea, you probably won’t with your GPS sitting at eye level in front of you.
If another country has an idea that has no merit or reason to exist apart from justifying some pen pushers salary, you just know it’ll end up being forced on us.
