Don't know what all the fuss is about, it's basically just a V8 with pairs of pistons welded together - YEAH RIGHT!

actually yeah right...
a bike with one of the worst efficiency and reliability record in the world and a concept that costed numerous heads to roll on the floor at hrc...
beside that, still one of the most beautiful bike ever...

I saw one the first year MotoGP went back to Laguna .... not exactly a pretty looking bike. Having said that a lot of the design ques from the NR ended up on the Ducati 916..... except the execution of the Ducati was a masterpiece... as far as looks go.
The Similarities:
- Dual squarish front headlights
- Ram air and the position of the ram air
- colour
- Single sided swingarm
- Dual underseat exhaust

I would rather have all of the following:
Bimota Vdue + Yamaha R7 + Augusta 750 serial number 0001
and have change for Macca's

Exactly. And to me it ain't worth the asking. Very nice piece of motorcycling history, but not at $400,000+. But the next guy might think that's a steal.

A desirable bike for a collector for sure but not that $ desirable surely. They whilst different weighed in at a tad hefty 222kg producing 125 hp,impressive for a 750 then but more was available at way less than the 35000 pound back then.

It's working then. Not a bad idea really, advertise a nice bike for over it's value to get people to look. Then hopefully 1% of those look around his other auctions and see something reasonably priced and buy that.
All the while, the immaculate condition bike gains in value as it gets older.

The hotel we stayed at in Diano Marina had one in the foyer; the hotel owner was a bike enthusiast and had bought it new. Also had a Moto Guzzi Storno (125) on the 5th floor.
