650cc New Class for next year folks, for any one seriously interested in riding the TT, this would be the best way to learn the track and not cost so much money first year there

whgere does this put newcomers who have a limit of 600cc in their first year?
Will have to read rules when released next month. I would be thinking that as long as the rider qualifies for the Course Licence they should be good to go?

Something based on a Kawasaki Versys would fit the bill. They are using those motors in flat track in the US and seem successful.

Spend some money on suspension, brakes and bodywork and there you go.

Pro Twins type rules for that class would rock. It'd be the best class for first timers by a long way.

So a Suzuki SV650 class? Hmmm i wonder who pushed for this.
Sounds like a good idea for first year TT riders tho!

actually there are an aweful lot of those kawasaki things over there in the irish road supertwin class, it even gets won by one, but it does have a mighty good rider on it.
How to get a 550 aprilia to last for 3 laps/114 odd miles.........

Don't think I'd trust myself round there on anything faster than a GN125!

Fuck me - I'm in! I'll do a few 'race mods' of course, usual stuff like tape up the lights etc. Might put the 3.5 gal tank on 'cos I heard its quite a long course and I expect to be using full throttle occasionally. I guess I'll need a new set of tyres for the old bus as well.... You know - just in case... Do you think I'll need a fly screen?
