Hey guys, I am making the hard decision to sell my Ducati 996. It it is an amazing bike, one which I hunted down for its condition.
It has 25000kms on the clock. All servicing is up to date. Big service was done at the proper intervals by the dealer that had it at the time. The oil and filter have been changed before the factory intervals (in fact only 500km ago or so). I have not spared any time or expense on this bike, as I had intended to keep it for a good deal longer.
I think this bike is a bit more special that some of the others seen on Tardme and the like. It is the '2nd generation' 996, which came with the lightweight Marchesini 5 spokes, and the silver frame. It is in great condition with:
- Termignoni Carbon Exhaust
- Ohlins rear shock and Showa forks.
- Brembo brakes front and rear.
- A monoposto seat, which is much better looking than the biposto option.
- Genuine Ducati Performance carbon airbox. Super high quality carbon.
- Carbon front guard and rear hugger.
- Replacement top triple clamp. This reduces flex, which was one of the problems with the standard unit.
- Machined rear sets.
- Recently new genuine Ducati front brake discs (after some muppet at the bike shop damaged one while changing a tyre - not through overheating)
- Good chain and sprockets (comes with a 14T and 15T front - the 14T is a far more usable size and allows for better riding in pretty much every scenario.)
I have been very particular with this bike. It is cleaned regularly, serviced as it should, and kept in a garage under a cover. The parts on it are high quality and complement the bike rather than ruin it like on some bikes (ie no rim tape, no stickers, no $20 Ebay fake carbon levers etc.)
This bike really is great, it sounds amazing and is so inspiring to ride. Eveywhere it goes it gets comments that usually contain the words 'mint condition' and 'jealous'. I can stand there in the garage drooling for hours, but it's even better when you get it on the road.
I have someone who has expressed serious interest, but if anyone is interested then feel free to get in contact as I am open to other options until a sale is finalised. Please ask questions or PM me if you like.
My number is 021646456. Calls or texts are fine.
