Of any one here, you need the least amount of new ways to trash your bike!
You are just jealous that his effort was caught on tape. :chase:

Perhaps his other bike's a classic and needs a serious squeeze to engage the drum?

Why did the bike camera continue on as normal? :\

Because they were told that the marshals will deal to any issues and stopping on the track makes it more dangerous (according to some of teh comments).

Oh wow. Sorry, I read a lot of the comments but obviously didn't see that.

I thought pulling onto the grass after checking someone wasn't near you would be sufficient.

Same as in NZ, if something does happen, course control decides if a red flag is necessary. If so, they tell marshals to put it out. All bikes return to pits, marshals deal with the issue. Last thing marshals want is all the bikes stopped on the side of the track, as it's a safety issue in itself.

That brings back memories. Remember de tuning my old twin leading shoe front brake in wet weather and 4 leading shoe brakes were treated with great respect.

It's known that drum brakes can be made to stop very well  I suppose it's easy/cheaper to do a disk brake set up that works just as well or better.
Fond memories of the drum on my GN dying halfway down the 'takas because I was bored and sliding it on the brake. Got really boring when that shagged out

How many bikes have you crashed?

Being 22 you may hold the record! lol Do insurance companies see you coming and suddenly change towns?

Discs generally cool better, and are better in the wet. A drum brake full of water ain't much fun. I use a twin leading shoe setup on my RM400 vintage bike, and it stops as well as a disc...just don't have any front brakes after doing a water crossing for a while till it dries out.

Fair points, brakes are for girls anyway.
