not sure whether or not this is the right place to ask this question, but:

I'm a NZer in Australia for work for about 6 months. Was going to sell my bike since I plan on going to Europe long-term after this.

BUT, Work is bringing a container load of stuff from NZ that we need, and there will be room for my bike in it.

Question is, since I am not an Aussie resident, am not an Expat Australian returning home, and am not migrating permanently here, does anyone know if i can import the bike here, and register it?

has anyone done or heard of someone this before?
I cant seem to find an Australian equivalent of kiwibiker to ask over here...

Thanks in advance

Short answer/s. If your bike is NZ new, then yes you can. If it is a used Jap import, then no you can not.

As above, but you will pay through the nose in bonds that are refundable upon re-export of the bike.

yeah, the bike is NZ new...

My aim would be to sell it here in Australia before I leave; are those non-refundable bonds only for re-exporting the bike?

Forget it. It'll cost you a fucking fortune.
