Hey all,
After doing some reading on here about powercoating, someone recommended ARKRO in Glenfield, Auckland.

Went and saw them today, nice guys, quoted $60 per wheel to strip and powercoat, so if anyone else is thinking of getting some work done, do it! It's cheap as hel.

Think carefully. Powdercoating can look great, but can also highlight every imperfection and then is subject to chipping every time you fit a tyre, including the first time after the job is done. Wheel balancing will also need to be done so be careful which weights you apply.

My son just had it done in Kapiti and it was $45 per wheel inc a bit of beadblasting to get it ready. Base colour though (black).

Cheers

For that amount of money, I'd happily get it redone once every few years to keep it looking fresh.

I am faced with the problem of getting the wheels off the bike and to the powder coater though. Anyone know of somewhere to get a good decent set of stands?

Your up north so not so prone to quakes, I use cargo straps to hold the front up while on the center stand.Allows me to remove both wheels but does,nt help when the rumblings and shakes starts .
