The BMW needs some new shoes.
I've been extreemly happy with the Power Pures. They still look great after 10,000km but are starting to square off.
Too many rides to work and not enough track days :(

I use the bike for everything, commuting, touring, track days (in the medium fast group).

Two questions
1) Should I stick with a 190/50 rear or go to a 190/55? upsides / downsides etc
2) Stick with the Pures or go for something else? Cycletreads have the BT016 for nearly $100 cheaper than the Michelins. Conversly I hear great stuff about Metzler M5s but they are over $200 a set more than the Bridgestones.

How wide is the rear rim on one of those?

This one has the optional 6" rim at the back.
Standard was 5.5" but of the handful I've seen here they all had the wider option fitted.

Easy then, if ya like corners and trackdays, then go the 55. (don't let anyone talk you into a 180 either)
10,000kms! I'd be stoked.... if yer happy with the powers, why change?

Thanks Mr Death. That backs up what I've heard elsewhere.
I would be keen to hear from anyone that has tried the BT016 and the Power Pure back to back.
$100 is a $100 after all.

Although I havent tried the Pure's, I'm on my 2nd set of 16's. Like them heaps on the track compared to the the SuperCorsa's, and RaceAttacks I've had previously - they felt a bit slower to tip in to begin with, and I think the front lets go slightly sooner, but more predictably (Take this with a grain of salt, as I've gone from a newbie, to slightly less of a newbie over this period).

Got 4-5 track days before the edges were bald, and about 5-6k of commuting/weekend rides before the centre is down to 0. Interesting was the front edges went 1st, then the rear centre, and rear edges, this may be me/my bike though.

+1 for 016's. I'm on the third set and have no interest in trying something else.

There is a long running thread on the 016s, that you can read. I'll keep my answer short and say I hated them for my use and bike. Never used the Pures.

I'd take the 190/55 over a 180/55 or 190/50.
