Again thanks for all the support from you all. So I don't miss out anyone I thought this was the easiest way to let people know what's happening with me.
At the last meet I had to keep retiring from the races as I was having trouble breathing. To cut a long story short I have been diagnosed with malignant PNET (Primitive Neurotodermal Tumor) cancer. The tumor is about 3/4 the size of soccer ball, taken over most of my right lung and pushing on my heart, left lung, the main vein returning blood to the heart from the body and wind pipe.
I am going into Wgtn Hospital next Monday to undergo tests and start treatment.

George, thanks for the update, was thinking of you today and hoping you'd have some better news, but I guess it's still early stages figuring out what's going on.
Keep strong, keep fighting, and big hugs to all the family. It's been a tough year in patches for you all.
Hoping for better news to come out of Monday's visit, and will continue to send best wishes down south :)

I have been told at this point the tumor is inoperable due to;
The tumor is pushing on the heart, main vein returning blood to the heart and left lung.
It is over the "centre line of the chest".
To operate the patient need to be left 40% breathing capacity after the operation. At present I have 54% breathing capacity.
So its Chemo and radio therapy for me. Oh what joy :shit:

Wishing you nothing but the best as you progress forward with your treatment. I know from over the years you are a strong man, and a very positive one. Keep that up and it will help you and your family along for sure. Thoughts are with you during this very trying time. Hope you aren't up ladders at all setting up bloody stage lighting.... Hi Guys. Am shaky but vertical, smiling and enjoying the recent sun. Am going up to the track with a few key holders this Saturday to see if the Dyno work has paid off, plus ply with my suspension not to mention getting a new rider of mine out on a bucket for the first time. Wouldn't you know it only got to 16.8 hp but heaps more torque than planned (as in close to 30 Nm more or something) on the Dyno. PM if you want to visit as i would be keen to catch up and keep in contact.

Back to hospital tomorrow for another 5-7 days of fun filled chemo. Thanks for the wonderful support and words of wisdom from Henk, Michelle, Clive, Geoff, Malcolm, and the rest of you wild pack of trogulites, last weekend a blast. I definably got my fill (with your help) of the bucket drug to help ward off some of the not so sunny side effects.
Without sounding forward (as opposed to my usually backward thinking) please come and visit. The time spent staring at the beautiful painted walls gets very depressing and long-winded.
I'm going to be in Ward 5 North at Wellington Hospital. Just ask for me by name followed by "Vacuilk-Hamilton", usually pronounced in Kiwi-English "Var-zuu-leek-Hamilltin"
I'll be thinking of you this Sunday.
I'll try to log in to check for any PM's but most likely won't be on on-line until I get home.

Hey George, mate. I've not been reading the forums much of late (or racing) and I'm just catching up with this now. I hope they are keeping you comfortable in hospital and I wish you a swift and full recovery. Hope the family are coping OK. Thinking of you. FINALLY out of hospital (albeit for a couple) of hours from a massive Staff infection, which resulted in two large holes in my chest, taking the port-a-cath out, getting a pik line and finding out hospital food is not edible, except for watery porridge, bread (if you have access to a toaster) and custard.
I wont be at taupo as am now going in for Chemo next Monday. My heart will be there willing you all on with what i hope is a Wgtn 123 finish.
I'll see you at the next Kaitoke meet with at least Biker Bee racing.

Not sure what we can send you in a care package, but sounds like some edible food won't go amiss. Can you PM me an address to send something to? Hospital address would be good.

How did the ride day after Boxing Day go? Henk saw you in Taumaranui, but I was in lala land and saw nothing except a heap of bikes (they all blurred for me, but that's pretty normal) and that person on the Yamaha Scorpio-Z (damn he/she was keen riding it that distance).

Chemo is every 3 weeks, with a good week to recover. Hopefully only one more cycle of chemo followed by operation and then radiation.
Boxing day was a lot of fun. Pulled into Napier around 4ish. I missed a turn off so stopped in Taumaranui for a break and when I saw you guys it was to late to wave. There were kinds of bikes out there including a couple on GN250s I saw on the open road.
