crazy. surely at that kind of angle it becomes detrimental to your cornering speed?

:gob:
At that angle it doesn't really matter what your cornering speed is, your awesomeness surpasses it

Motards corner a bit different to sportsbikes, and in sharper corners sorta slide to an apex, then snap back out, as if attached to an elastic cord... Just look how he's sitting on the side of the bike, with his foot tucked right up
As tyres get better and better, it will happen more often. Years ago, 45 degrees was thought to be the maximum, GP bikes last year or thereabouts were hitting 66 quite happily.

Yup, a daily occurrence in the life of supermotard and just one of the many fun things to do.

Yeah it does, after a certain point where the front and rear are moving about silly and you're actually holding the bike's weight up as the front tucks with your foot on the ground, it's definitely not as quick.
The Motogp boys still feel more at home with the knee down though:

Mind blowingly amazing what these guys and girls are doing on Supermotards
What gets me is that they are so far over .. there can't be a very big patch of rubber making contact with the road ...
