So you don't put the engine in the bike, you put the bike on the engine?

Just the same as splitting an XV yamaha....
When you going to tell us the outcome of the barrel question ?
PI reckons 200deg C and the liner should drop out.....

Still calling in ideas. I took it to the Cold Kiwi and had quite a number of people fondle it with no real answer. Some said they knew and when i asked how that would cause this they couldn't link it up.
Not being picky but i'm looking for an explanation as to cause an effect...

basically the swingarm attaches to the rear of the motor and the main 'body' the oil tank attached to the top of the motor with the headstock bolted to the front of that.
the rear shocks bolt between the swingarm and the oil tank...
simple as that
Hardest part in the whole dissasembly was removing the wiring loom, which a cut in the middle and will make a joint there for future jobs

Looking at that, maybe John Britten wasnt such an original thinker.

I reckon you're going to have to drop the liner out anyway - just to satisfy yourself that there is material behind the spot it's picked up...
And Bob - read the book, JB did admit inspiration from the Vincent layout.

There's not much on the Britten that's original when you look at it closely,
he's just put a selection of older ideas together and refined some of them, and spent a shit load of time trying some different ways of doing some of those things too
