On retrdme is a Em Ecks Fyve with 10" wide rims (250emem for those young bastards).

And it has 1-fuckin'95 tyres fitted.:shit:

SIx inch rims would be any amount wide enough for 195s but freakin' 10's???

And they're selling it with this clusterfuck set-up.

That's the one - at least you won't scuff the side-walls on the kerbs so easily...

Reminds me of back in the day when you could make 7" X 13" rims for your Mk2 Zephyr.

But the only tyres were 175X13s.

Stretched sidewalls can look good with the right wheels, which this car doesn't have.

We see this shit all the time (being in the mag wheel game). The idiots don't realise that the tyre manufacturers spend millions (well maybe not the chinese one's) on developing these things to work on specific size rims. We've seen quite a few that have popped off for no reason, in fact we had one do it on a customers car driving it around the building just the other day . I also know that Mad Mike occasionally has the same problem on his rotor drift car (Which is where most of these idiots get the idea from- He's good mates with one of my workmates). They should be illegal.

Must be a bugger to get the beads to seat when you fit the tyres? You would need a massive volume of air or do they just put inner tubes in?

They can be quite poxy depending on the rim, we use a bead cheater which dumps a massive amount of air into the tyre in one hit from the edge of the rim rather than through the valve

I've seen the reverse back in the 70's

A PA Vauxhall with stock 4.5" rims.

And 215 X 13" Cavalinnos squished onto them.

LOL!!!! Nah, I'm much mre careful where and when... 'Sides, I'd hate to think how fast I'd have to be going to lose it and drift the rear, this thing sticks like the proverbial on the tyres it has. Handles like a dream! :sunny:

that stretching a tyre onto a rim is about the stupidest thing Ive ever seen.

I despair for humanity some days.

Do drift car people actually do that as well? if so, why?

(by the way, drifting is not motorport. apart frombeing incredibly lame, if you get "Style points" its not racing.) Sure the guys have got decent car control skills, but if you want to get sideways, go rallying.
