I'm just tidying up some wiring after a tail tidy and I need to shorten some of the wires that lead to the indicators etc. They are exposed and I need some sort of waterproof connector. Does anyone know what I should use and where I can get them from? Thanks very much.

You could try split conduit for the wires, basically any auto parts store will have it. Tape to finish, or heat shrink tape for super duper water tight. For the sealed connector, Eastern Beaver. http://easternbeaver.com/Main/Elec__Products/Connectors/Sealed/SM-MT/sm-mt.html

Thanks. What is split conduit, is it an alternative to a sealed connector? Can you buy sealed connectors over here?

Dude, what happened last time you tried messing round with electrical things on your bike, like R/H front indicators for example?

That's this stuff:

For protecting and tidying the exposed wires. You can get this from Repco/Supercheap/Dick Smith/Jaycar etc.
You can get sealed connectors from Hella through BNT (http://www.hella.co.nz/3-271/product/dt-connectors) and probably other good automotive/auto electrical outlets.

Fair comment there Jimmy but if I gave up after every failure in life I wouldn't do anything myself!!

Are you looking to reterminate into a new connector or just shorten the wire and rejoin it?

Sorry bud, not sure how to answer that. There is already a connector between the indicator and powering wire, I want to shorten one or both and fit another connector in the new shortened position.

Can you buy sealed connectors over here?Sure, but it is ching a ching ching. Those are OEM connectors on Jap bikes, so the quality is there.
