View Full Version : Size and weight for shipping tyres?

I'm now actively hunting down some Pilot Road 3's for my BMW, and since NZ probably won't get them until next year, I'm going to see if I can source overseas. Finding them isn't a problem... getting them here is. If they will ship overseas, tyres have to ship by ground, they do international by air...

So, does anyone know roughly how much tyres weigh? Ideally, if you have a 110/80/19 front and 150/70/17 rear tyre, I would be after the dimensions (pref dual purpose tyres, not knobbly). Weight would be awesome as well...

Info is needed for filling in a freight forwarding quote as I won't quite fill a container...

When's your bike due back?

And what sizes does it take that aren't available here in NZ?

Due back early October. Takes 110/80/19 and 150/70/17, which is common for it's group. The PR was released in the correct sizes, the PR2, only the rear (never the front... the PR and PR2 combo is common), and the PR3 in both sizes. However, Michelin have staggered the release of the tyre, releasing the popular sizes (120/70/17 and 180/55/17) earlier this year. My sizes have only just become available about half a month ago and from previous hunting, NZ will probably get the first shipment of that size next year.

Ta, looks like a damn good option... except there is only 1 rear left, and I was looking for a mate as well... hmmmm.... :innocent:
