k3 stock settings

mate has just got k3 and wants to set suspension.has anyone got stock settings so we have a good place to start?

Back - Rebound 7/ compression 8 / Preload Approx 24mm top of thread to ring .
Front - Rebound 6/ compression 10 / Preload 4 1/2 lines


Have my own settings good all round town & 250k+ road

I have a k4 thou and weigh 75kg.....i'm a shit rider admitidly. However i wondered if i might have a little more confidence with different settings and how much difference weight makes when setting up suspension......does anyone know?

Stock settings are based on 90+kg riders . so may be abit stiff for you weight . Body weight does come into the story but any late model Sports bike has more than enough adjustment to sort out this . A well set up front end is the most important thing for me on a bike then you can play with the back to fine tune the balance of the bike to your riding skill :yes:

KEEP THE STOCK TYRES , LEAVE THE PREASURES AT 36/40 SET THE STATIC SAG AT ABOUT 30 MM FRONT AND BACK , USE STOCK COMP AND REBOUND SETTINGS, RIDE FASTER TILL THE REAR SLIDES START TO DROP PREASURES, YOU MAY GO AS LOW AS 33/35 OR SO .
CHECK HEAD BEARINGS AND SWING ARM BEARINGS REGULARLY.
YOU REALLY NEED TO COME FOR A RIDE WITH ME , IM FASTISH AND CAN SHOW YOU HOW HARD THESE BIKES CAN BE PUSHED

I would have thought that an engineer and martial artist would have had a diligent interest in excellence that extended to other endeavours. I suppose nobody "told" you how to any of that stuff...

Talking of front ends,i have a K4 gixxer,its new but it appears to me the triple clamp is slightly of centre to the right,would only be a mm or so but it has me curious,could the wheel be offset?the forks seem straight as you would expect with new bike.Any other explanations apart from getting my eyes checked?

Sixpackback - I'd leave yours on stock settings, the biggest thing you can do is run good tyres (which you are) and keep an eye on your pressures, it never hurts to check em before each ride. You're getting quicker each time i see you so keep it up(right) mate.

The front on the K3/K4 has to much Compression & preload which makes it skip when push hard on its side & bump steers in Town Not for me . Have put together some mint settings from 8 months road testing round here ..

LOSEN TOP YOKE PINCH BOLTS ,LOSEN TOP YOKE CENTRE NUT . LOSEN ONE SIDE OF AXLE PINCH BOLT, TAKE THE BIKE OFF THE STAND HILD THE BRAKES ON AS HARD AS YOU CAN AND PUMP THE FORKS UP AND DOWN REAL HARD DO UP THE BOLTS AND RECHECK

Sadly I know them . Have a book with all my old settings for my 93 GSXR1100R as well that I used for different roads round here . Mates give me shit how much I play with my bikes . Just want the best I can get .

My Mentor has told me that I am one of the Fastest Big HP riders he knows of here so I'll take that as been very good coming from him as He was seriously fast on anything he road . Have family now so don't push half as much as I use to . . There is still someone that is faster just haven't found them here yet . But they are out there !!

All my life . More so from 1981 when I got into big power bikes TT500 /YZ490/ CB900 just couldn't get enough . Only one that hurt abit . Had a bet with mates that I could wheelie my YZ490 for 20k's did it but coming back tryed showing off alittle to much Stand up on the seat for about 5k then flipped it over backwards at about 150kph . Very sore . Had no helmet short shirt on & jeans with work boots . Took 1y to heal skin back from that one . But have had some close calls on the odd ride . But thats another story I'll tell ya when we Meet :Punk:
