An interesting read;

I never realized that the GS1200 was lighter than the KTM990

That was a cool read, cheers.

Interesting to note how many fancied the Ducati, but none had it as their personal choice. I imagine its cost along with it having a few failures during the trip didn't win it a fan or two.

I wish they would include the GS Adventure, as it seldom gets compared, but would be neat to read. I'm biased as I own one, so I guess I don't need to be told how good it is either :innocent:

The Triumph stand spring came off and resulted in a tester almost coming off so he rated it worst in the dirt?

I liked the comment " I would sell the Ducati and buy 2 Triumphs"

Maybe that's because they're incomparable? :woohoo:

Probably a bit harsh... but then, I don't think I'd be too happy with a bike that tried to kill me. Also why it's good there are 5 testers, so one person's experience doesn't completely kill the bike. Also telling 2/5 chose it as the option with their own money, so if people are looking at the review seriously, it's quite telling... to me at least.

Meh.
I've ridden most of those, and I know what I'd pick for NZ conditions.

What a minute, I don't have to, it's in my garage...

Good read...

7000km on the MTS so far...
Never found a false neutral...maybe switching from one bike to another with different gearbox feel accentuates the problem?

Will watch the rear brake, but to date no sign of any problem.

Fuel sensor problem...I have notice the gauge does not read full till 20km or so after a top up

It took me a few days to get familiar adjusting the traction control and other electronic settings...sorted now.

I think the ktm is at the trail end of the adventure spectrum and MTS is at the road end....suits my style....but I am sure it does not suit everyone.
