Be advised that there's road works on the Shell side.
Starts at intersection of Clarence St and Lincoln Rd.
There appears to be no early warning signs.

If you're coming from Clarence St, don't aim for the further most lane. You'll be in for a rude shock. The signs are 10m or so in from intersection and there's almost nowhere to go except footpath or back where you came from. This will impact on anyone aiming for the Shell petrol station entrance because it's located after the before mentioned sign.

They're digging holes every 50m of about 2m x 2m and there's a car trailer full of metal items. Appears they're installing manhole covers of the double door version as found nearby that petrol station. Hope not because that'll basically close that lane for us motorcyclists.

For those heading further on towards Akaroa, there's a new layout for Haswell Rd starting after the intersection with Hoon Hay Rd and Curletts Rd till city border. It's safe but just don't start daydreaming because shortly there'll be pedestrian islands in the newly painted median strip nearby all those new bus stops. Hopefully this will stop cars from under and overtaking me along that stretch.

Sadly there's no markings for traffic lights or roundabout at the dangerous intersection of Hendersons Rd and Halswell Rd. Despite being in a 50km/hr zone, there's an 80km/hr zone starting 50m away. One can easily wait 5 minutes in the car and recently witnessed car in front getting T-boned - scary stuff. All occupants were okay, can't say the same for the two cars involved. Glass and plastic fragments everywhere. Not a great start for their Sunday morning.
