PB magazine reviewed it this month against a street tripple, Kawazaki z750r[europe only] and liked it. They did not like the budget suspension in particular. I would like to love this bike but: low rent suspention, bottom of the barrel brakes and an exhaust that will cost biggies to change. $15000 budget buy plus $5-6K to make it what it should have been in the first place? Shame imho. However I sure it would be eaasy to lower using new dogbones... I am not a triumph fan but I thing a steet tripple is probably a better buy....again imho.

Street triple has a narrow seat as well as being low. You know you want it.

Personally, I would opt for the FZ8 http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/motorbikes/motorbikes/sports/auction-403764382.htm...Fecken Yum!

Team Suzuki (Riverstone Terraces Division) has just procured a white GSR750. Team Suzuki (Ngaio Division) is going riding with it tomorrow.

I own one, first in NZ, black with red air intakes. Well it was sort of for my wife:yes: Awsome rode bike, I allso own a GSXR1000 K5 and this will out corner it. Is as lite and nimble as a 600 but has 148 hp and it loves to rev.If i do a track day I'll take the 750 unless my wife is on it. It dose 130 in 1st 175 in 2nd and 215 in 3rd so why do you need a bigger bike? Loe it!!

FZ8N for me (but I'm slightly biased) if for no other reason than the better brakes, suspension and slightly better torque than the GSR.

I wouldn't. It's supsension is truly pathetic and that exhaust is vile.

It's only 25mm difference in seat height over the Gladius, so unless you're really vertically challenged it shouldn't be too bad.
As far as lowering it, it doesn't look like there's a lot of room to take foam out of the seat without making it uncomfortable. Maybe contact McDonald Motor Trimmers http://www.trimit.co.nz/motorcycle-seats-tauranga.html about a custom seat?
Otherwise if you want to lower the suspension, get someone who knows what they're doing to do the lowering, preferably internally on the forks and shock rather than a lowering link etc. PM Robert Taylor on here for more (and better) advice, or click the CKT ad on the front page and there is contact info listed there.

Have you ridden a GSR? The suspension's worse, I promise you.

Most (if not every) exhausts are...and are normally the first thing to get replaced on a new bike by the over excited new owner..

...it just does not look as ....robust? as the Yamaha overall.

BRM seemed to speak highly of the GSR 750.
I saw a black example in the flesh recently.... nice bike!
I look forward to riding one.

But would you buy one after the GSXR750?

The thought has crossed my mind!
A bit of attention to the suspension, and I reckon it would be GREAT!
I have, however, ridden the latest sem fiddy... and would quite like one of those!

I think you have made up your mind. However, if the body is not as willing as it used to be you could go for the comfort of a busa

Today I rode a GSR750. I was in WMC to window shop and inquire about tyres for the Busa and there was the demo GSR750. A brief discussion with Pete and it was ready for a short test ride.
I didn't have much time for a ride. My ride was up the motorway to Newlands and then back for a run up Ngaio Gorge Road. The GSR750 is a nice lightweight naked that would suit me fine for commuting, around town use and a blast on the open road. It is so much lighter than the Hayabusa. The engine pulls well, even at low speed in higher gears. She is fun on full throttle when up in the revs. The brakes are fine and I had to test these having read test reports that were less than complimentary; there is nothing about the brakes that I could complain about. In fact they bite more readily than the Hayabusa brakes.
It is a nice bike and if I needed a commuter this would suit me fine as it is lightweight and with the wide bars and upright riding position is simple to maneuver. It is very well priced.
