View Full Version : Wellington: Wellington Wednesday Night Cruisy Summer Rides (TCWNR) 2011-2012
Hitcher
23rd September 2011, 21:34
Welcome to another summer of Cruisy Wednesday night rides!
Rendezvous is at the Elephant Pond carpark, opposite GNS Science on Fairway Drive, Avalon, Lower Hutt.
Pre-ride mingling starts about 6:00pm. Be fuelled and ready to ride at 6:30pm.
A decision about where to go is generally made by consensus, depending on wind, weather, alignment of the planets.
The only designated role holder is generally the Tail-End Charlie. That role is usually held by the last person to leave the car park who may or may not have a cellphone.
This event is not a race. It is typified by its laid backness. All welcome, except squids and wannabe racers. There are other summer rides for those folk.

For fuck's sake. The first Wednesday Night Ride for this summer hasn't been held yet and already the slagging has started.
Please leave this nonsense alone and let those who want to turn up and ride do exactly that.
Yes, people occasionally do silly shit on these rides. And there are no riders amongst us who have not always handled the ride we were on in the manner we would have intended or preferred.
Could people please try and be a bit calmer, more measured and leave the personal attacks alone. Otherwise the Moderating Team will be moving offending crap to the Pointless Drivel thread.
This is a general warning.

As the years pass, may we grow in strength, wisdom, and experience.
Accepting the things we cannot change,
Having courage to change the things we can,
And, wisdom to know the difference.
Ride safe this weekend.

The seat dedicated to Uncle B at the Duckpond has brought opportunity for numerous riders on a Wednesday night to stop and reflect. Uncle B was a very active participant on these rides helping the newbies, including myself.

Awsome last ride of the summer lovely people... had a BLAST! So good to be able to join you all this time for the final ride on my bike - much more fun than watching 30+ bikes head off on a gorgeous night without you. Already can't wait til next summer xoxo

The guy on the ZX sounds like he's blaming the camera man. HAHAHAHAHAAHA, winning!
