I'm looking forward to the first ART day of the year.
http://www.amcc.org.nz/advanced

Hopefully I've applied early enough to get into group 2 this time ("Novice Fast"). I have several things coming together at the moment, but I need to work on my mind. I've been doing some practising by riding at a lower but more constant speed on windy roads. My brain is starting to accept that everything is fine and there is nothing to worry about. Hopefully some training on the track will re-inforce that.
I could do with stronger legs and mid-section. But I'm trying to work on that ...

I've got near new brake pads, tyres, and now a new stearing head bearing on the bike. So I think the bike is ready.

I've changed my diet a little over the last couple of weeks, and managed to loose a little bit of weight. That should make the leathers a bit more comfortable to wear! So I hope the body is ready.

Who else is coming? I can't wait!

I just realised, I never got a confirmation. Did anyone else get one, or did they forget to send them out?

Great day today !!!

Weather held for all but 1 session, but a bit of variety is good!

Great way to safely get to know a new bike (or 2).

Forgot quite how much it shags you out though !

Had my first trackday today. WOOOHHOOOOOOO:woohoo: Our instructors, greg and Mike were awesome, learnt a ton of things about my riding, screamed down the straights and tried my limits on the corners. thank you to all the experienced riders who offered knowledge and advice.

I can't wait for the next meet. Absolutely knackered, However still grinning from ear to ear.

160 km's down the back of Puke 20 times does something to your soul :first::niceone:

What a brilliant start to the ART season!!

So good to see everybody out on the circuit again. Some new and some old faces were treated to a circuit in very good clean condition and everyone rearing to go.

Full groups and a dry warm day greeted us, a fantastic morning session (2 rounds) were completed. Lunch has been ‘upgraded’ to include the good old Kiwi pie Mmmm. The afternoon session (3 rounds) showed a massive improvement for groups 1 and 2 with again our most improved rider coming from group 2. A stunning yellow Ducati won the best presented bike award and it’s always good to see the hotly contested instructor award won by Mike in group 1. We had a couple of photographers at the circuit so check our web site for details when they have them all sorted for the links. Reports of rain didn’t eventuate (apart from a brief drizzle period for 10 mins) until after it was all over.

Good to see a few racers out their dialling themselves back in for the coming season and the post classic guys testing some exotica before the Post Classic GP at the end of the month.

On a personal note I managed to get out and dust of the trusty R1 and was able to wobble around for a couple of sessions checking if it all worked ok.

Good to see many of you hang back for the BBQ and a yarn and we all wished Avalon Biddle and Jaden Hassan success overseas.

Remember the next event is 30th October and many places are already filled so don’t delay.

See you out there again soon

I think it is easier to group the photos by group (1-4) and session (1-5) ... for next time. :)

For those who don't know me. I'm very new to Riding, 8 months. I have amassed 9000k on my Boy Sebastion and have loved every MINUTE of it. :woohoo:

I was born blind in my right eye and choose to do the ART course to improve my right hand turning. And to have a general hoon without the worry of Mr Blue appearing in the wing mirrors. Please be kind i know i have alot to learn, this particular footage was Session 1 My first Time ever on a track.

A few things i learnt from this one video, Don't enter the dummy pits and station your self to Close to the 2 strokers................. I need to keep my revs up more and i have confirmed my new found passion. manage to push 167 k's in the 3rd session. Man my boy was screaming, I can't wait to return in December as i can't make the 30th :(. Enjoy the footage.
