LOL I can see what you mean Death, about people being hesitant. Don't be shy boys and girls, we won't bite.

Which means, I'll most probably join in.

"Bondage Gear" you can keep that shit well away from us mate, stay in Hamilton. Paula taking the smooth feel of your bald head too far? Either that or it's a Kawasaki thing.

Not sure if you guys are going to take old north > peak rd > SH16, or are planning to take old north rd all the way to helensville.

If you do take old north all the way to helensville there's quite a nasty pot hole a couple corners past the old noth / peak rd intersection.

Just thought i'd give you guys the warning.

DEATH_INC.
16th July 2005, 15:50
Not sure of the names of the roads, but we come out by dairyflat, not helensville....thanks for the warning though.
The weathers looking a bit dodgy for tomorrow, you guys still wanna go?
I'm thinking we'll have a second look at wellsford , if it's good, up through paparoa to oakliegh then maybe around through dargaville, back through the paparoa rd then down to waipu then back home via 16 again.

Woohooooo!!!!!!

Just got back around 25 mins ago......

Awesome ride guys.....

Quite a few of us turned up, from memory:

Death, Draco, Loosebruce, SixpackBack, Another yellow Gixxer 1000(or was it a 600), a silver GSXR750, MikeL, Another bike that looked like mike and me....(that's all I think)......apologies if I missed anyone.

First stop was at wellsford which I mistook for an early lunch break so went about tightening my chain.....:weird: ......sorry for holding you guys up....and thanks for giving it a final check and giving it the OK DEATH.

Went up north down some lovely roads and had a great time. I think todays ride was almost as long as yesterdays ride - maybe bout a bit shorter....

Lunch was very nice at a nice little restaurant called Mondos....since we had been riding for a while I was REALLLYYYYYY hungry so to the amusement of others ate like an absolute pig.....

Luckily the weather wasn't too bad and mostly quite bearable the whole day.

Surprisingly I had NO moments today :ride: ..... riding on a near bald back tyre I had a few pretty bad wobbles in the heavy rain but luckily I was expecting it to jump around at that moment and managed to control it by standing up and letting the bike finish its dance under me. I hope I didn't give you guys following me a fright....

Also I apologise to any of you who were offended by my overtaking, I had full visibility in all those situations and pulled out and ahead only after making sure the road was clear ahead even going to the extent of standing up to look over blind crests which those of you who ride with me know I do a lot. Once again I'm sorry for any issues caused.

Highlight of the day for me was when DEATH passed me for the first time in the day doing a 10-o-clock wheelie.... the last time I saw a wheelie that high was at the Taupo track day :2thumbsup

Today's ride had a bit of everything: some dry roads, some wet roads, some gravel roads, some sunshine, some rain, some wind, some magic moments, some "oh shit" moments...
But even at its worst, it beat sitting at home watching TV...
Embarrassing confession from the geographically challenged: here I was thinking the next stop was Dargaville and we arrived at Whangarei. Doh!
But I discovered some new roads...
Great ride.

Today's tip: anyone thinking of ordering lunch at Mondos in Whangarei: remember that the first to order is the last to get served.

Glad you guys had a good ride today. And about this waiting for your order business...I really hate it when I order for two and one plate arrives 20mins before the other, so much for dinner 'together'!

Yeah matey......... for future reference...... Death and LooseBruce are among the best on KB.... in that they have heaps of track, off-road, public road experience.........and crash experience too.....

You should also PM either Doug (Dougie)....or His Lordship Frosty for some serious tutoring..... if they are available........ all have pretty busy schedules (work, family, etc)

QUOTE]

What experience Death lacks on the track he makes up for on off road and what expericence i lack off road i make up on the track, both got a fair bit of public er track experience, although Death with the extra 30 years on me, and i think i'm catching him on crash experience, wont be long now old man.

Good day all n all, was waiting for the thunder and hail to break out as we had every other type of conditions today. Good to meet Ian and Kev, i wasn't really on it early on, could've been something to do with the 10mins sleep i got last night, had a few dumb moments :oi-grr: but after lunch i started to wake up a bit more and got my shit sorted, so to speak and me and Death put on some good pace up front, after chasing down a few riders, one on a busa :Punk: one a 996S and the other a new Repsol Blade with 1000kms on it, only he dropped it in the garage this morning, doh. As starnge as it sounds my best riding today was in the wet, felt really comfy and smooth (apart from trying to back the bike into a corner the wrong way, nice tar slicks)

Cheers for the company all, and catching Zed by Whenupai who was sleathly avoiding several cop cars :ride:

Till next weekend, but i cant wait that long so i'll hit 22 at some stage this week and waste more money on gas

Glade you guys have a good ride.

Saw you just south of the Dargaville turn off heading north, we we're in the tin top heading back to AK. All I could think was bastards!! having fun on the bike while I'm stuck in the car.

Then to make matters worse we get overtaken by about 20 bikes just before Wellsford, most of them Ducati's.

God I hate not being on the bike when there's traffic!!

cheers
