Okay okay, what does CAMP mean (and for you Aucklanders it means something different down this end of the country and it doesn't involve dressing up in women's clothing...)
Colin Along (with) Mike (and) Phil (adventure ride).
In other words the TTTTT ride but different.
Again we promise you tunnels, a swing bridge, good gravel, lunch at the Whangamomona Pub, an overnight at the Awakino Hotel (on the Saturday), a New Plymouth start, a waterfall, good company and awesome roads including the world famous (in New Zealand) Kiwi Rd.
There are two possible weekends for this ride, if you are thinking of doing the ride reply to this forum to let us know if one or both dates suit you.
The dates are weekend of;
11 / 12 / 13 November
25 / 26 / 27 November
Once we sort dates I can post more information
This is an indication from you only, we will confirm numbers once the date is sorted.

25-27 would be good. Kiwi Rd awesome! Last time I went there I inadvertently rode in some farmers property for a few of km's - someone had switched the sign around

Yeah, 26-7 Mike, you should maybe(?)stay away from the 12th and not compete(?) with the Kaipara 200, which many here will no doubt be going too?:scooter:
I have not graced the Naki with my shadow in a very long time, a very long time, it would be nice to visit again.

lots and lots
according to wikipedia camp = ostentatious, exaggerated, affected, theatrical, and effeminate
sounds like something that would strongly appeal to DR riders.....
they'll be like moths to a flame

Yes, and that pile of scrap in the wheel barrow doesnt count as a DR650 :killingme
the only difference between a wheelbarrow and a DR is a wheelbarrow does have some character

What's exaggerated and ostentatious about a DR?
The suspension travel?
The power delivery? <_<
The cutting-edge Dakar styling?
You clearly have a bit of a soft spot for DRs

You're a bunch of bastards, I'm already into the Kaipara 200 so that's the 12th used up and an ex-mate of mine has persuaded me to ride round Taupo on the 26th.
Fuckers, I missed the last one as well.
I'll untwist my frilly knickers in about a month. :crybaby:
That looks like fun
29th September 2011, 04:58

The ride will be 25, 26 and 27 November.
Start in New Plymouth early on the Saturday and plans are to finish at Taumarunui around Sunday lunchtime.
The ride is,
On easy gravel and twisty sealed roads
Big bike friendly
Suitable for pillions
Accommodation;
Friday night - we have various options but need to see how many are coming first, not expensive though.
Saturday night - Awakino hotel (I will find costs this week and will update at the same time as I put the calendar entry up). You will need to book your own accomodation. For those who have not stayed there before it is an awesome typical country pub!
Again we promise tunnels, Whangamomona Pub, Mt Dampner water fall, Kiwi Road etc!
That looks like fun
2nd October 2011, 17:49
As Mike has said there will be Tunnels, Including a Stock Tunnel (unless you have a pit bike and a ramp I doubt you will ride through it :scooter: ) Some of the twistiest tar-seal rds Taranaki has to offer and the usual fine selection of Gravel. Plus a chance to play on the beach if the tide is right. :woohoo:
But no mud ok
