Honda has announced the development of a new, 700cc engine that has achieved a 40% improvement in fuel-efficiency over other models in it’s class.

The new engine is a liquid-cooled, 700cc, 4-stroke, in-line, 2-cylinder. Fuel economy has exceeded 27km/L,(l), by utilising higher-combustion efficiency and lower friction technologies including resin coating the pistons, an aluminium rocker arm, uneven-firing intervals and a branch intake port inside the cylinder head with only one intake channel for two cylinders.
