Greetings from Japan. Am here for a combination family holiday (Disney Land and Sea), business trip and MotoGP weekend.
Looking forward to heading back to Motegi. Was last there in 2008 to see Rossi take the title - guess I won't see that this time...
Anyway my pick.
1. Stoner (duh!)
2. Pedrosa
3. Simoncelli

Hope to have updates from there.

Well I was going to ask whether the Motegi circuit would suit the Yamaha... but events have conspired to answer that question. Honda domination. So far.

and I will be there to see it live!

Qualifying was pretty good. Crowd was disappointing. I heard that with all the riders threatening to boycott they were struggling to get momentum for crowds to show up.
Anyway - a spectacular track and a couple of highlights for me by the final downhill straight.

1. Most of the Moto2 boys backing it before hitting the apex (9/10 anyway)
2. The phenomenal acceleration of the MotoGP boys before the front wheel lifts up at near 200 mph and then hard on the anchors and so fast down 4 gears before elbows down around the bend. Awe inspiring to watch live. Even the slowest of the riders were great to watch there.

Will be back tomorrow for the races. Can't wait.

What a start to the race, plenty of drama and excitement - everything a GP should be. Some great riding skills on display (especially into the run offs). Was interesting to see how the field changed with the ride through penalties and hard charging through the field by the leading riders! :niceone:

Heading back to Tokyo for business today but the weekend in Motegi was great. What an action packed weekend.
Saturday.
Moto2 backing it in at the final downhill hairpin. Awesome!
The sheer speed and acceleration (and NOISE) of the MotoGP bikes as they howl down the final straight, front wheel in the air at around 300k's then hard on the brakes and fast down 4 gears for the bottom hairpin. Each bike one after the other just awesome.
Sunday.
Rossi down corner 2. Every race that day a crash there on first lap.
Barbera a nasty crash in final chicane. I saw it happen in front of me. Hit the wall then bike hit him. Away in ambulance. Lucky it wasn't worse.
Stoner in gravel after nearly losing it, then Dovi and Sic a ride thru.
Great battle at the end for Dovi and Sic to the end.
Well done to Dani, Jorge and Casey.

Certainly was. Interesting that Simoncelli is now starting to beat Dovi in those close situations.

Moto2 really getting fascinating too. Spose Marquez is odds on to win but I'm sick of Spanish midgets so I'm rooting for Bradl... shame Iannone had such a slow start to the season, can't be many people who hand Marquez the lead with a technical problem and then chase him down and kick his arse a second time :woohoo:

I was watching the MotoGP video podcast (Aragon version). Viewers had submitted questions for the riders, one was, "What is your achilles heel?"
Lorenzo is scared of cockroaches, Davizioso is scared of snakes, Elias is scared of people who smell bad.

When Stoner was asked what his achiles heel was he thought and said, "I haven't got one." WTF? Give the boy a milkshake and some time to reconsider...

Some of the other questions were amusing. One to Colin Edwards was about a guy whose wife thought he was more married to his bike than to her. She suggested he move into the garage. He was asking what he should do.

Colin's advice? Make sure the beer fridge is full and move into the shed. Oh - and better take some lube.
