Well go figure that in 2009 I lost my job and our plans to move to NZ had to be put on hold:angry:, But go figure that one of your recruiters would have held on to my CV for two years and gave me a call two weeks ago in regards to a job in NZ:shit::facepalm:

So short of an interview we might be heading to NZ again, to our great delight.:yes::woohoo:

My FZR600r is heavily Modded at least on the outside, the engine, frame, wheels "brakes" are still the same. see thread here (http://fzronline.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=1053) How do the NZ officials handle modded bikes like mine? Will they even license it for the road?

So I have read through quite a few of threads on importing bikes and it sounds like if I do a thorough scrubbing on it and have it completely painted it will look stock enough to pass importing inspection I also have the original exhaust to through on there for road inspections and licensing

Serious reply - not sure what a 90 ish 600 is worth over there, but you should get one for 2-3 Grand here, probably easier to sell your bike and buy again here. THe cost in re registering, plus shipping, customs, maf inspections is going to end up costing you more than it's worth, unless the bike has some real sentimental value.

I had thought about that too, But I have so many damn hours in this project, I could probably sell the added parts for more than the bike is worth straight out.

I won't have to pay anything for shipping, relocation cost will be included, the company that could be offering me a job would get us a container. I will just have to worry about MAF inspections.

Might be worth bringing it in "as parts" and waiting for a donor bike/frame to come up. I see a FZR1000 frame on our local equivalent to ebay www.trademe.co.nz (http://www.trademe.co.nz) for $300 thats still "live". If you aren't in a hurry you'll find something.
