Bike covers - Who sells these (cheaply)?? I have been to the Warehouse and they only have car covers, was wondering if a small car cover should be alrite on my GN?? The car covers @ the warehouse are only $30 so was thinking about getting one of those if I cant locate a "proper" bike cover . . .

Gear Lever - I managed to get my b/f's mate to straighten it, however it is now TOO straight and I need to get it bent slightly out again *waits for sarcastic comment*. What I want to know is should I just take the lever into a bike shop and get them to do it, or is there somewhere else in Welly's that might be able to do the same thing . .

All help greatly appreciated!

Get a proper bike cover. They come in different sizes to suit the size of the bike. They then fit nicely without having bits flapping everwhere. Over here I got mine from an auto parts place, but bike shops sell them.
Can't help with the other problem. :ride:

Any bike shop will gladly exchange a bike cover for monetary recompense. It won't be as cheap as the Warehouse car cover, so I'm afraid you have to make your own call. As long as the car cover won't scratch your paintwork and you can stop it flapping around too much.

With regards to your gear lever I'd be careful about bending it too many times as you'll probably snap it. You could always price a replacement (OEM and pattern), when you're in pricing the cover.

Hope it's some help, but at the end of the day it's your call.

I've just bought one for mine. Fits the Bandit like it was made for it. Ties down front and rear and under the engine. Has heat proof fabric where the hot bits get close. It's supposed to be waterproof, but my other one (different brand) was only showerproof.
We've got them at AMPS @ $88.00inc.

Or you could be a tight-arse like me. Spend $12 on a warehouse tarpaulin, fold it in half, twine it together down the sides et voila! You have a bike pocket! Didnt have any problems with heat. Cut some holes in it so you can tie it down.

If you're not sure, ask for a second opinion from someone when it comes to tie points. Take note of where any wind might be coming from, you dont want it turning into a balloon! But otherwise it was a damn good solution. Theres a few different size tarpaulins so check out the bike size first.

If you're close to a SUPERCHEAP AUTOS, try them for tarps.

I got one for the trailer, and it was cheaper than the Warehouse.

I got some really cheap ones from Bunnings. Not as good quality as the Warehouse though. I think they were only about $5

Go to a Bed retailer and ask for one of the bags the beds come in, they are thick and will do a good job for a while and best thing it will be for free !!

or get hard and park your bike in the house !

Well isnt this a resourceful thread!

If the plastic's too cold you could knit together the clothes of homeless people to make a cover. Or you could ask them to keep it warm for you instead.

You could even put a bit of heat onto the plastic like you shrink wrap other goods.

I'm still trying to summon up the courage to try this, but I fear there may be a revolt by the missus...
Maybe I should fix the oil leak first.

Oxford, the m/c accessory maker do two bike covers, the cheaper one is not *that* much more than $30.

You might want to ensure that the material from which you made a cover doesn't damage the paint work in the event that the wind causes it to chafe.

You'll regret that when the plastic melts onto your bike's hot exhaust
