Yamaha XJR service

I think I've found a decent 98 XJR on trademe http://www.trademe.co.nz/a.aspx?id=411663465 The seller seems like a very decent chap and the bike certainly looks cool in the flesh.

My major concern about it is it definitely runs hotter than the GSX1400 I have at home. I'm hoping to find some assurances that it's normal before I buy it but it definitely runs really well.

It definitely needs a good service. I was hoping someone could point me in the direction of a good independent bike garage. I'm staying near Whangaparaoa but I have my days free.

The pipes don't seem to have got a bad colour on them so doubt it is running too hot.

At those k's it isn't even run in. Rev the shit out of it and hold it as high as your balls and the owner will let you, see if it pumps out nasties or misses and farts. If no nasties and smooth scream, ride it away.

Bumpity bump.

So I did it. I bought the XJR. Is there really no one that can service my bike that isn't a million miles from Whangaparaoa?

Anyone in the position to do a foxer/ nixer? That's your Ireland slang for the day. ie moonlighting. I think all I need done is oil/ filters and ideally, valve clearances. I think the chain just needs adjusting and oiling and the tyres are not long for this world but can wait for another couple of weeks.
