Hi,
Have decided on a replacement for my vfr - would love a cbr600f - can possibly have a bit more cash if it's a good one.

Been to see one on trademe but guy wanted 4300 and the bike had bent front discs, cam chain tensioner needing replaced, missing fork dust seals, broken screen and mudguard :-p there's another one down in bulls
But not sure as can't get down there for two weeks. If someone would be able to look at it for me though, That'd be awesome! Otherwise..

Anyone have one of these closer to Auckland contemplating selling?

they are great bikes, and I would think you should be able to get a nice one for 3.5k. I bought my '92 about 2.5-3 years ago for 2k:woohoo:

Awesome bike, would have one again no worries. Ive ridden the F3 and F4/F4i as well and they are all fantastic bikes.
Youve chosen well!

Any major differences you notice between the f2 and the late 90,s/early 200's one? Before fuel injection though..

yeah mine was a bit of a steal, the luck of awesome circumstances for a buyer...
theres alot of people out there advertising their bikes for more than they are worth. I tried selling my F2 for 3500, and had no bites. I ended up swapping it, plus 2k for my R1:woohoo:

I found they just got a tad more refined, a mate of mine also had the F1 while I had the F2, and in terms of power, there was fuckall between the two...

Its going to depend more on the condition of the bikes at that kind of age though. I had a link that outlined all of the changes they made each year including every colour scheme etc. They were an awesome bike in their own right, so they tended to make relatively small changes. Id be happy with and F2, 3, or 4. all awesome!

What kind of price would one expect from a 01 cbr with 80k on the clock, half a front mudguard, cracked screen, warped two brake disks (quick search says 800bucks to replace both) and some tapping I think may be the cam chain tensioner? Oh, and missing front fork dust seals..

anyone? have been offered it for 3800, though been quoted 800$ for the discs, 45 for the pads (both inc labour), 100 inc labour for the fork dust seals, and possibly around 700 for the cam chain and tensioner inc the labour....so that would be 5500 all up for a sorted bike with 80000km on the clock...:-P...

i reckon you could find a better deal elsewhere. dont forget to count all the time you spend fucking around with it, and the probability youll find a few other wee things needing fixed while you are repairing it.
