I'm thinking about riding from welly to auckland on the 23rd or 24th, then from auckland to kerikeri on the 26th or 27th, so if anyone else is up there, then let me know and we'll go for a ride.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh good luck!
I tried to make a mental note of what petrol stations stock good 2stroke oil, to save carrying 10L ina backpack. No many do!
Depending on your route, the Shell station at Turangi, (the bottom of Taupo?) sell fully synthetic VSX.
Fingers crossed for good weather!

Heya, im looking at heading up to near tokoroa, havent got any set time, date etc but would be keen to have people to run with. Im crashing with a mate before heading to tauranga, good chance you could grab some floor if needed that night.

I've got a bunch of mates going up in an evo 8, so i'll get them to take my 4l bottle of vsx with them :D
Should be able to get up there without topping the 2 stroke oil up.
Ah this should be cool.

I thought about that route, according to the route finder on the AA website it's the quickest way.
What?

So does anyone have a time and a place they are leaving at/from?
If it's not too early in the morning and I have my S**t together and am packed and ready to go I'd be keen to join up. :bigthumb:

Go thru the Paekak Hill Rd, then the turn through to Shannon - go in thru PNorth, out through the Woodville exit. Take the back roads to Taihape - then go thru Ohakune, then at Otarahunga, go via Pirongia, to Ngarahwaia, then SH25 to Drury and then on the motorway

If you go near Drury check Firefight's posting re the roadworks first.

Thanks Linda, but that should not effect them, its more if your going to and from Puke township,, if they come back via Kaiawa-Kawakawa -clevdon they will be fine & if they come back from glen murry -to Tuakau they should still be right if they get back onto S/Hway 1 @ Pokeno or via Harrisville-Bombay

I may yet have to scratch the bike plans, got a feeling my frames bent, bike turns left like a demon, but going over right its like it gets on the brakes or its rolling off the front tire once its over. Any ideas guys?
I only just got it moving after an accident and it now has an rf900 front on it, I have been having trouble with the brakes.....
It didnt look bent!
Its not that serious so I many still be up for it!

The R1 was always pushing to be repaired before Xmas - so that has hampered any spending at this stage. Taken a couple of skis for a spin....but I only plan to hold on to it for the summer then flick it - trying to decide if it is just cheaper to rent for the nice days.
Have a friend trying to convince me to do the 2004 Dunlop Targa - so if that proceeds - I can see money flowing out the door........
The 888 sounded good. You riding the MarkIII much?

No, it's a project spread out over my garage floor. Never been registered in NZ even though it's been here for 8 years, in a garden shed. It doesn't need much big stuff, lights, battery, oil change, air filter, mirror, regulator and thats about it really.
We seem to have hijacked this thread but I don't know how to move it into a new one.

Eddie and I did the trip on what looked to be a pretty crap day, we only got a few bad patches although I managed to stall my bike and hold up alot of traffic while struggling to get started,(screwdriver across the solinoid) embarrasing.
I would like to thank my sponsors, Suzuki, Whitakers chocolate bars, my team mate Eddie and most of all the big fat comfortable seat my bike has, my ass was so much the less painful than if I had a seat like my RGV had.
I thought I saw 2 south of tokoroa xmas morning on a GSX1400, was that any of you?
