As a photographic project im looking for any people who work on their motorcycles in their kitchens/dining rooms / bedrooms or any other converted part of the house (garage excluded). I want to photograph the scene as opposed to the person. The typical scene would be a half dismantled bike/engine spread accros the floor !
Ideally within short travelling distance from Auckland.
Thank you.

Travel down here to Dunnerz,
You will find plenty of students who do it,
Tigertim20 form what him and his wife have told me, used to wheel his bike into their bedroom and have it stripped down and cleaning the carbs in bed,
He know has a tractor gear box in the lounge..
I know of someone else who is building a bucket racer in their bathroom..
Good luck though, sounds like alot of fun

I often work on our vintage motocross bikes we keep in the lounge of our apartment on the 5th floor here in central Wellington. If I was up there, I'd be happy to help!

I had my bike stripped down and half dismantled on the living room carpet earlier tonight. Would have made a good photo.
She's gone to bed now but.

I got booted out of a flat for doing that once. Landlord was a tosser - it was all clean and bright. No different from a buncha pots and pans really but of course he didn't see it like that...

pity you're not in wgtn, I have a mate with an RZ500 project in the lounge that you have to step around, a rebuild of his roadbike in the kitchen, a GP racebike in a bedroom & just had a bucket aside as well. + a reasonable garage that isn't empty.
MX bike on 5th floor huh Pete? Bet moving that's an interesting elevator trip early morning when no one's around.

Sheesh. What is it with Yamaha's inside. Ya mate sounds like a mini Mike Vash!
I'm lucky. The apartment has a nice big service lift. I can get the bikes in as long as they're assuming the wheelie position! I have ridden a couple over the years down the stairs to get 'em out though.

no he's actually quite sane, I've seen inside Vash's place, well aside the RDs on the porch & in the hallway.
Besides with the TZR bucket gone there is only one Yam, a VJ23 suzi & a Rotax engined GP bike. Quite a nice collection & always a pleasure to pop in & view.
Nice apartment btw. CR fits right in.

Pulled apart carb on my office desk?
Until about 3 months ago, I had a bike horn and a carb on the computer desk, a rear fender in the hallway, headlight at the floor of the stairs, a petrol tank sitting outside the main door, various tools and sheet metal spread out.
Now I just have a horn and a control switch block on my desk. Everything else has been put away on the shelving in the workshop!

We don't have bikes being rebuilt in the house, but we always have parts everywhere. Last night we had my husband's racebike battery charging on the stove top. My dad's dirt bike guards and fairings on the dining table.
In a perfect world, my bike would live in the lounge where I could see it every day
