Got two discs off trade me ages ago for a project but just realised they are both left hand discs.
They are off an rgv250 and the same as gsxr400's amongt others.
The question is can i get one rotor turned on the carrier to make it a right one or not.

Left/right...what is the difference? I've never heard of discs that are directional...

No difference.......that's why they're both left.
Actually, it's the sweeping pattern of the rotor holes. They should sweep backward from bottom to top.......at least that's my understanding.

Really? My understanding is that the holes simply reduce weight and provide better cooling...

I think the backwards from bottom to top is just done so it looks cooler, unlike some carriers (also sometimes part of the disc) with angled 'spokes' which must sweep from top to bottom. Hole placement won't be exerting force on the carrier or disc, but may make some difference to the stresses internal to the disc.
I'd flip it mainly so every observant fella doesn't give you shit about it :bleh:

The solid (non floating) discs I had on my Harley were visially directional - and marked 'L' and 'R' accordingly..

I'm sure that's true and the sweeping pattern is no doubt aesthetic, but it is what it is. Some rotors are identical copies (universal), while some are mirror images (L+R).

I had been told the hole pattern is for better cooling.
Not sure if its true and what the ramifications are for running it backwards except the shit factor as has been mentioned.

You could always contact Steve at F1 Engineering in Hamilton. He does rotors, but I wouldn't imagine that work would be cheap?

I've heard the genuine Harley Davidson boots are also marked the same way ...

Might do that.

The direction of the drill pattern won't make a pinch of shit's difference...run them as is and save yourself the trouble and expense of trying to change one.
Buy me a beer at the BM with the $ saved...
