Over the winter it's hard to beat the Michelin S12XC combo. They work very well in muck and soft terrain. They also work pretty well on firmer ground, but obviously wear a bit more. They seem to grip pretty well long after they are no longer sharp which is always good.
Pirelli MS32 front is also a very very good tyre, probably the most copied tread pattern for front tyres.
Over summer I could be tempted to try Motoz tyres, the're very cheap, and sound like they last very well on firm ground.

Ones with white sidewalls should help you blend in just fine.

that's only cause you haven't tried anything else. Pirelli ms32 front and rear had on my 450 even when worn (which they will over summer ) they still hold rather well

i run bridgestone m404/403 everywhere, they do not last as well as the michelin MH3's but they hook up betterm

A 2nd on the Pirelli MS32, have one on the back and it's just not wearing at all, although admittedly it's only had Woodhill time since it went on.

Best choices are either MS3 or MT32 for the front, I prefer a harder wearing tire for the back either a S12xc or MT32xc as I'm on a tight budget.

I'll second that MH3's are good, Pirelli's are better. mid soft winter, extra for everything, mid hard summer.
cheaper too

I'm a little slow...
A bit like my riding then... except I'm not little (and I don't mean I'm tall).
