View Full Version : Rednecks out West [Auckland]!

On the 20th, I was coming back from Don Buck Road in the West of Auckland after going there to check out a Suzuki GSX250 Across when two young men in a lowered red pick-up truck zoomed past me.
"Whatever," I thought.
As I followed 20 m behind them, all of a sudden they slowed right down and I had to hit my brakes. Thanks to emergency braking practice, I slowed right down without locking up my brakes but they continued slowing down till we were at a crawl. I stayed behind them and waited till they sped away.
"What's up with them?" I wondered. "Are they redneck white trash living out here?"
Again I followed behind them minding my own business until they turned off and I continued past them. I glanced at them and they stared at me. Wonder what their beef was? Don't like motorbikers? Don't like Yamaha Scorpio users? Strange...

Under the influence and didn't realise that their velocity had changed?
Perhaps they were wondering why your ute had lost two wheels and a tray and were slowing down to assist you?

In my experience people in utes and "other" larger vehicles love to use their size to intimidate you... people in 4x4 are the worst.
Its not west auckland thing.... its an auckland wide thing. Just give them a wide birth, ride to survive and hey.... at least they were in front of you and you could easily anticipate their antics. Its when these cunts get behind you and play sill buggers that puts the shits up me. if in doubt... just get the fuck out.

Knowing the quality of the vehicles out west, the ute probably broke down momentarily, then somehow they managed to get it started again...
But it is a bit redneck out that way, I live in Glen Eden but am an old Nelson bogan, so I feel quite at home...

They wanted you to overtake them so they could get your registration plate, which they could they use to find and steal your motorcycle from where it is most commonly stored.

So you hit the cemetry trails?
No but I eye them up on a regular basis... would be great riding, but I don't like riding illegally (unlike several of my neighbours!).

Ha ha, well I woudn't ride the actual cemetry, just those trails on the GE side of the hill that head down to the railway line.
