View Full Version : For R and Full tests, still use 250cc despite exemption?

Just out of curiosity: I've applied for an exemption for the 250cc limit because of my size.

If I were successful in getting the exemption, can I rock up for my Restricted and Full tests on a larger-than-250cc bike, or do I still have to test on a 250cc?

As long as you have your exemption letter with you, you are riding legally. So no problem sitting the test. I sat my class 2 licence in a truck that I had an exemption to drive on a class 1 licence.

The exemption (if you are successful) will also state exactly what bike you are allowed to ride. Exemption does not mean anything you like. So make sure you are on that bike.

Ah, of course...

Too bad it means I can't go out and rent a loud Harley and turn up for the tests on that! Hey, at least if I lose the tester, he can find me by listening out for me!

He wont lose you. You will be going to slow and there will be a trail of oil.
