White powder from bettery?

My battery keeps getting a build up of white powder from the battery, ive checked that its not getting over charged and its fine.

It runs down the side of the bettery and around the terminal.

Any ideas on the cause?

'its corrosion. Somethings a little leaky.

to get rid of it, poor boiling water over the corrosion, then coat the terminals with vaseline.

exactly. But what I dont understand is, if vaseline stops corrosion, how come your rusty bullet hole is still rusty?
