Looking to maybe get my car shipped from Aucks to Methven... Has anybody dealt with good (and cheap) car movers?
NB: Car is undriveable due to engine problem.

Captain Transporter got my racecar from Porirua to Hams no problems, and easily the cheapest I found. Good service really, had a slight delay but they sorted it out for me ASAP.

Jeff's Transport (South Island based, but they go all over).

Cheers for the quick replies, I'll get in touch with them all.
Hmmm wonder if I can get it down for less than $1,000...

I've used Biketranz previously. No probs at all. A quick search will find old threads which also have a lot of recommendations for them - that's why I chose them. Good ol' KB
4 bourbons in are we? How do we get a car on a specialist bike transporter?

Actually Biketrans could probably do a small/medium car on a quiet trip - that's a big trailer.
Personally I'd try Jeffs.
But shipping a broken car to Methven......???? There must be dump sites closer to you surely.

So it will need to be fork lifted onto the truck?? ask a general freight Company and see if you can get it on a back load
Some of the general freight companys you could use
STL,Normans,Freightlines,Mainfreight,Porters,PBT( Peter Baker ),PTL(Palmerston),

Generally, no I don't think so....
Be careful too - I heard today that here in Rural Canty we're having a crime spree. Methven in particular usually has one car stolen per year...I understand 20 have been stolen so far this year. Locals of course are blaming relocated ChCh residents....poor rural security has nothing to do with it at all of course.
