SOoooo, sold my zx14 due to lack of use, work, family and stuff like that. But getting a bit unsettled without usual adrenaline rush.
While kwaka is an awesome bike, sports bike, even as comfy as zx14 still sports bike in terms of sitting position. Do want something more upright.
Have my eyes on the Yamaha Vmax, stats are almost as good as zx14, 200hp, grunt, but more comfy. Also, B-king fits the bill, but Vmax looks nicer IMO. What do you reckon gents and ladies? Any experiences with Vmax? Will try to take B-king for spin as soon as I can, but its hard to get hold of a demo Vmax being $35k bike (yes, you can get it cheaper), its not even available for a viewing, pre-orders only, how would you buy a bike without even sitting on it?? thanks for input

B-King, Yoshi pipes. Job done and change to burn on suspension and petrol.

Don't buy a bike because "stats are almost as good".

Also, a set of these for the ZX14.

A USA test between the two, saw the B-King come out on top, but the conclusion was it's so close you really need to pick what appeals to you.

If you need sports bike handling, you pick the B-King and it's faster up top, but the sound and the fury of the V-Max sees it with plenty of appeal of its own!

Both are lightweights. Get a Rocket III.

But nah, the VMax is wicked. Had a sit on one before a customer took delivery, quite a bit of kit for sure and seemed really comfy for me. The finish just seemed a little better than I have seen on the BK's too.

If you love cornering go the B-king. The V-max touches down a lot quicker under exuberant cornering. However, if straighlining is your kick, get the V-max but not a lot in it.

I tested the ducati diavel and the vmax on the same day,
bought the vmax , awesome!! everything is good, comfort, brakes, handles 100% better than the old model max, only prob is small gas tank, 15 ltrs, but theres a guy in germany making bigger tanks, you wont regret gettin one

Honestly, I would have put 20mm bar risers on your 14 and kept it, makes a bigger difference to comfort than you'd credit..
Other than that I wouldn't buy either the V-Max or the B-king, the Max doesn't handle well enough and while the B-King is an ok ride there no way I could get past the tonka toy looks of it. There's the new ZX14 due at the end of Feb 2012.

Had them risers, whole lot more comfortable indeed. But still, a bit too front.

I wish I had a delima like yours.
Never ridden either but on looks alone the vmax does it for me.

there was a new VMAX at the trackday yesterday, had some sort of 4-2 pipe on it and it was FANTASTIC. Sounded like a Lancaster bomber or something going down the front straight at Ruapuna.

Quick too. and you could hear it spin up as he nailed it out of the hairpin and the dipper.

Fucking cool no question.
