How can you collide with the trailer if it's a head on?

RIP Rider.

Perhaps the trailer was wider than than the vehicle towing it ... overtaking and messed up/misjudged the gap I guess ...

Mayhaps the trailer came unhooked from the tow vehicle, or slid out wide on a bend.

Speculation based on the ambiguous statement of "head-on" is probably wasted effort - I've seen t-bone collisions described as head-on in the past.

The accident happened at an intersection - the statement may possibly be erronous.

As per site rules please stop speculation - there is far more to this story than has been released - it is unfair on family or friends.

It has been reported that this is a head on, which is not necessarily the truth - please save speculation until details are properly released.

Uh, yeah.

Serious crash analyst Glenn Marshall said the towing vehicle was being driven by a 59-year-old Wairarapa man. His wife was also in the car. "The trailer swung into the path of the motorcycle and the motorcyclist had no route of escape and died at the scene," Mr Marshall said.

Poor fucker.

Lets not taint his name, whoever he was.

Yeah but who're you going to believe? A "serious crash analyst" or some asshole on Kiwibiker?
