Engine Component services in Hamilton. This is more than decorative rechroming. Its about pregrinding / preperation , hard chroming and then finish grinding to a specific size tolerance and surface finish. Its not cheap if you want it done properly

Nothing worth doing is ever cheap. I figure all up the work should cost me around $600.

The courier fee's to get them up there would be my biggest issue.

i spent quite some time searching for someone to do my Hesketh forks with plenty of 'recomendations' but none from someone who had actually had it done...
the penny dropped one day when i thought who does rams for heavy machinary, they have to be perfect which led me to rotorua electroplaters, great job and a good price too, they wernt' as shiny as original next set i get done i think i'll polish a shine into them
have you priced some from the states, there are a few people making high quality replicas that are on a par with repairing old ones, including freight.
what year and model are you after? that can also make a difference as some are too proorly made to recrhome cost effectively

I've got an 81 cm400 custom. I know of a fella in chch that repairs them but the finish isn't a nice shiny colour.

Auckland Industrial Hardchrome, they do loads of custom work as well as the boring things like fork stanchions.

There is a crowd in Oz that does it. I would personally get a professional to remove the casting from the bottom of the tube (and refit it), which has to be off for the process.
