Well the time has come to buy a house so I have to sell some toy's, Saddly this includes my very much loved Ducati.
Don't waste your money on an ST4 you wont be happy with it and know you should have got the ST2 they are much more suited to our riding conditions. Ive riden both and owned Ducatis for many years.

I have had a full service done for peace of mind for the new owner, This includes Belts,Shims,Filters and oil. ( Was not due yet but what the hell )

This bike is one of the best in NZ, The sound from the Leo Vince SBK pipes is better than any other Duc around and will still pass a WOF, only by 2.5dbs mind. ;)
It has factory panniers and aftermarket topbox mounted using a venture system so you can use a pack frame instead if you dont wont to use the topbox.

Also has new Pirelli Diablo tyres, WOF and Reg for 6months.

Has Oxford heated grips.

I have some spare bits and pieces that will save you money if they need replacing in the future. Also have the owners manuels.

I have had the clutch slave rebuilt and it is lighter than the standard spare one I have. ( Tip for other Ducati owners, Dont waste money on light clutch slaves! Cost me $50 to have the standard one rebuilt and it's as light as any $300 light clutch I have tried on other Ducati's. )

I have the factory U lock that came with the bike new and fits under the seat. I have no key for this but a spare Bic pen will unlock it. ( Yes all you people useing that well known brand of lock, You know who you are! A Bic pen is all that is needed for your beloved toy to go missing. Your all going to check the brand of your lock's arnet you. Google it! )

Mind you They are such great bikes I have often thought of adding the ST2 to the garage. Nice bike Woody.

Thanks. I love these things, hey have to be the best Sports / Tourers ever made. Might be just me, I do love the two valve machines.
But never could find a 4 that felt as good as the 2's.
The new Muilti strada will be the next Duc in the shed once we got the house sorted. 4 modes, awesome but the only one I wanted to use was sport, bugger the rest.

Yeah it took me a couple of years to get the 4s set up to my liking. Do my own maintenance so thats all good. But after not riding it for 6 months I am back on it again and I just can't believe how smooth it is as a tourer. And these bikes handle real well too, more of the sports than most sports tourers. Once again good luck. Thats a good price for a very nice looking machine!!

LOL ST4's blow these, the suspensions far higher quality - all ya gotta do is down gear them by 5%

Yeah I can see your point, the one flaw with the ST4 was being so highly geared it was terrifying to ride through the CBD... first gear smoothed out at 60kmh with standard gearing ARRGH!:eek:
At 5% its still in disqualification country if you place it into 6th gear............... but at least it tempered 1st gear so you didn't take off in lumpy jumps !!

Anyway - the OP's thread so.... - nice bike looks like great bang for the bucks asked, anyone wanting a great sport tourer would do well to consider this bike.

Yeh the ST4 has more Bang motor wise 20 HP for the 916 ST4 and margenally better rear shock, same up front, But it's bugger all use when you cant use it and it makes for a very lumpy, gas eating tourer unless you have an auto burn in your back yard. Great for track days, But then you'd be better of with a 916 or 996.
As an all rounder the st2 is hard to beat in real world conditions

LOL - yeah the comment on economy made me chuckle too - the range the ST4 gives me on the open road is amazing, and a 14 tooth front cog sorted the lumpyness.... pity there is no autobahns in NZ to REALLY show what an ST4 can do......

Still, this is a nice bike with very low kms, I will give the 2 valves a plug for ease of maintenance.... still say my 4 will kick any 2's ass on any road in NZ (and especially 2 up) but its only my opinon :)

I grew out of having to kick everyone's ass years ago. Now I just let them make a fool of them selves.

Note to yourself.............don't put other bikes down when you are trying to sell.

My comments are saying the 4's are just as good as the 2's not that they are better, faster , more powerfull. I think I s h o u l d t y p e s l o w e r t o o.
The good thing about the 2 is that the power and torque is where you want it for everday riding. The 4's certainly don't have anywhere near the power of bikes that would put the owners in the dick size debate category. Maybe if I buy a Hayabusa or a ZX 14...................

But will also add again that the 2 is a nice bike and I may well buy one one day. Its a pity Ducati stopped making the ST series of bikes as they are ALL great allrounders but they have to produce to a market that will buy. I do believe you when you say beloved Ducati. The St's do their job as a sport tourer very well. Better than those that haven't ridden them know. I met a guy with a ST2 he had bought brand new. He uses it for racing bears (where I met him) and touring showing you the versatility of these bikes. He pulled it down after 100,000 km's during a valve check as he thought it would need rings. Nope, still see the hone marks so buttoned it back up again and away he went.
