I'm trying to get a water cooled KDX 250 running properly. It runs, starts first kick, almost idles in fact but it seems "choked" in first & second, I need to keep on the clutch & lifting the revs to keep it moving. 3rd is much betterer & in 4th & 5th it goes like a cut cat. I have put a new float needle in the carb & set the float height correctly, tutu'd with the air screw & idle screw so it's running as good as I can get it at the mo. I noticed on my last outing that the inlet manifold from the carb is perished & showing cracks so I'm thinking air may be getting sucked in. I shall be whipping this off later today to check it's condition, try to seal it etc. Any thoughts or advice for a mechanical incompetent? Oh, I will be giving the air filter & housing etc a thorough check too.
