Sorry, had to giggle at it. Jase and Rick, you two need to print it out for the boys to frame.
"Dave Trustrum had it easy lapping the field" read "F5 Dave had it easy, got bored, so he decided to give training to 2nd and 4th place getters" with 2nd learning from it and 4th too busy pissing herself laughing at the whole concept to take anything in. Sheesh, we need to find someone to give him some competition. It really was a shame that DD didn't last and we might've had a race on our hands.
Hmm,reminds me, anyone remember who took Luke's cup to give to him? Think it was Warrick, but can't remember (sorry, was sober for once).
Thanks to Simon for submitting the pix and article - any decision on this weekend yet? Or you heading to KOK?

I'll remind the old boy not to put in the time & small effort to submit something so F4 & F5 can remain the poor cousins left in the corner of the room.

Good on him for taking the time and submit something that can only help our sport. I don't mind being Odd. Good shit.

Well if DD was racing it would have been a race, always is. Well maybe not in the wet. Andrew needs to finish his 50 which seems quite fast now has proper size wheels. Fishe needs to race his 50 now & then.

I would be looking for a raleigh 20 chassis my self. Much better handling than the Lowline. I have owned both

Yeah I had the pass me down Lowline. Stripped the long guards off it when i saw a mates BMX bike, which were the new thing at the time. Didn't really help. Raliegh 20s were ghey! 1/2 backpedal & only 2 gears? pah. The good old sturmey Archer 3 speed was the biz, even if it did slip out of 2nd & whack your knee on the stem.

Where the hell did that come from? I thought it was cool he'd bothered to do anything because it's not as though the rest of us even thought about submitting something to MNZ.
If it wasn't appreciated, we'd not have bothered even linking to the article (and going over to read it). No article is going to cover everything from a group event, as we all have different experiences on the day. Just because Trudes picked up the fact that Rich is odd in writing, doesn't detract from the kudos for your dad for being proactive.
Now, can you have a read of the thread again, and don't take anything as an insult to any of your family - there was no insult intended anywhere.

It just shows that I was interested and read the article very carefully. I meant no offense to the author, I guess I didn't realise how sensitive some people are around here. Anyone who knows me knows that I would've been having a laugh, because Rich is an odd fellow. ;) (put that smiley in there just so nobody thinks I'm trying to be a big meany bum to Rich).

Put it down to a WONDERFUL day at work.....and more me kicking myself for proofing it and missing it.

Bummer about the bad day at work, I know that feeling oh so well.
As for proof reading, that's sometimes my job, and I'll pick up a lot, but miss the odd thing as well. It happens.
You probably don't remember but years ago there was a big stink about an ad that ran in a local paper, or it may have been the Auckland Star. The person had a problem with the word "coconut" and she often typed "cococunt". It got picked up at proofreading stage sometimes, but one time it did go through. Full page ad, nice big font for a shop selling cococunts for whatever price. hahaha. The chick who'd done it got phone calls from Germany. This was before the internet. Funny as hell, the shop got good coverage so were happy, but that was the least of their problems as they went pop not long after. No, I wasn't proofreader or typesetter, I just worked with her and caught her out another time with it.
Now, calling Rich odd isn't that bad, and those that know any of us would agree we're all odd. Nothing to stress about, and stop kicking yourself. I still think what the two of you did was a great idea.
