The other reports I have read indicated that it was the tomato sauce that is being counted as a vegetable serving, not the actual pizza itself. Still...

Jamie Oliver battled their stupidity - and lost.

When he attempted to serve a healthy rice-based meal in a school, they declared it to be unhealthy due to "insufficient vegetables". They insisted that the rice be removed - and replaced with fries.

Facepalm doesn't cover it...

You'd find people in NZ who believe that too. Just not in the same numbers.

Not me cuzzie - I am definitely an animal...(well according to the ex I am anyway...)

The sort of decision we are discussing here is the inevitable result of allowing money to elect governments...need I say more?

In the movie Idiocracy (now there's an idea for a movie, America being run by idiots, where ever do they come up with this stuff?) a company bought the FDA and changed the food pyramid to it's own ends.
I laughed at the absurdity - then realised that the joke was on me.

Still, we get what we deserve.
Election anyone?

Idiocracy is a pretty darn enjoyable movie. On the surface it looks slapstick but it's got plenty of amusing social commentary like what you just mentioned. I like how everyone keeps going on about how good electrolytes are but no-one actually knows what they are.
